Main Purpose:
The Head Deepwater Projects shall be responsible for conceptualising deepwater field development and other offshore oil & gas projects for maximizing returns on investments. Develop, execute & manage projects in timely and cost-effective manner. Effective management and control of risks through engineering design, fabrication, installation, and commissioning activities. Effective management of challenges associated with multidisciplinary projects including interfaces with Sub-surface, Drilling and Supply Chain Management teams. Monitoring and performance evaluation of vendors/contractors for FEED/detailed engineering, Subsea production system, EPC works about technical compliance, schedule, performance, testing and project controls etc.
Job Accountabilities:
- Manage multiple deep-water projects.
- Oversee timely completion of feasibility studies, site selection, environmental and other related clearances from government and statutory bodies.
- Review benchmarking/ market intelligence studies against international and domestic EPC/ project teams on all project processes and use the analysis in consultation with Chief Development & Projects to develop execution plans for the projects.
- Review cost-benefit analysis of different project execution models in terms of procurement costs and associated risks.
- Ensure adherence to budgets for Project costs and monitor all projects on a real-time basis.
- Review and analyse any potential schedule/cost overruns and facilitate speedy resolutions.
- Facilitate smooth transition from Projects to O&M.
- Review consolidated progress and budget reports and conduct periodic meetings with all stakeholders.
- Ensure timely goal setting, monitoring, review of performance parameters and feedback to team members.
- Oversee succession planning for all key positions in the team and mentor and groom high-potential subordinates.
Skills Required (Knowledge and Skills)
- Experience in managing multiple deep-water projects.
- Experience in leading large teams across multiple project sites.
- Should possess skills to lead a multidisciplinary team.
Key Attributes (Experience and Qualifications)
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
- 25 years in Project Management in E&P Industry out of which the last 10 years should have been in leading project management of large deep-water projects.
