Work Rotation:
- 2 weeks On / 2 weeks Off, 12-hour shifts daily
- Duration: February 1, 2025 – June 1, 2026 (option to extend by 3 months to 1 year)
- Primarily offshore
- Onshore work may be required at Quonset or Providence offices (Monday to Friday schedule during onshore assignments)
Key Responsibilities / Tasks / DeliverablesResponsibilities:
- Implement and manage the Electrical Safety Rules on-site, including the safe system of work.
- Provide operational advice on high voltage electrical installations for WTG, offshore substations, and submarine and onshore cables.
- Supervise the safe commissioning of grid connections, offshore substations, and associated MV/HV/LV equipment.
- Oversee all MV/HV/LV operational activities to ensure the safety, security, and integrity of the HV network.
- Facilitate proactive management, coordination, and communication among all project stakeholders.
- Manage MV/HV/LV commissioning activities throughout the project construction stages.
- Ensure compliance with Electrical Safety Rules.
- Act as Senior Authorized Person for electrical matters.
- Perform switching operations and Lock Out/Tag Out on LV and HV equipment.
- Manage outage scheduling and network control in collaboration with Control Engineers.
- Update MV/HV/LV schematic diagrams.
- Conduct safety inspections and audits for electrical-related activities.
- Coordinate with the Lead Commissioning Project Manager to provide updates.
- Manage and coordinate HV/MV/LV commissioning activities.
- Liaise with the National Grid and participate in commissioning panel meetings.
- Prepare and review high voltage switching schedules and method statements.
- Develop and implement training programs for relevant staff.
- Provide technical and engineering advice for electrical-related matters.
- Attend FAT and SAT tests as required.
- Contribute to the project commissioning management manual and related documents.
- Provide reports from FAT & SAT for high voltage equipment.
- Conduct on-site verification of switching programs.
- Participate in resource and work activity planning.
- Contribute to the assessment and authorization of new candidates.
- Deliver technical inputs to the design phase of the project.
- Oversight of MV/HV switching and isolation processes.
- Issue safety rule documents related to Electrical Safety Rules.
- Manage electrical safety operations on-site.
- Relevant electrical qualifications and experience related to the authorization scope.
- Several years of experience in high voltage electricity operations and commissioning, with offshore experience preferred.
- Minimum one year of experience with onshore substation systems.
- Must be able to pass GWO and HUET with CA-EBS certification (maximum climbing gear weight limit: 120kg/264lb). Certification cost will be covered but deducted if the contract ends within one year due to candidate/supplier termination.
