Main responsibilities:
The Project General Manager is accountable to COMPANY management for the successful definition and delivery of the project in accordance with the agreed objectives, including;
- HSEQ / Technical Integrity
- Performance
- Cost
- Schedule
- Company reputation
- Local / National economic development
Key activities:
- Mobilizing and managing the multidisciplinary team responsible for the execution of the project and selection of the most cost effective solution
- Preparing the project strategy, including contracting strategy/plans and HSEQ plan
- Preparation of the Risk Register and relevant mitigation strategy to address identified uncertainties
- Prepare the work program and budget for the project
- Managing and supervising the project activities
- Managing and supervising the bid phase up to contract award, preparing the Field development plan and the project execution plan, coordinating project approval
- Executing and completing the project in accordance with the approved development program and budget
- Establishing project procedures and policies in accordance with COMPANY standards
- Managing day to day progress of the project operations optimizing the use of the budget
- Reporting the project progress and cost trends to COMPANY Management
- Reviewing and approving the authorization for payments
- Reviewing, assessing and approving any contract variation
- Monitoring of the project progress and costs and instigating / coordinating actions required to keep the project on budget and on schedule
- Coordinating the execution of the project activities ensuring that the highest HSEQ standards are maintained throughout all the project
- Preparing the necessary certificates to obtain the handover to the production operations department
- Preparing detailed project and phases close out reports
- Managing Risks related to the development of the project
Minimum & Mandatory Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science Degree (B. Sc) in Mechanical/ Chemical / Structural
- Professionally qualified engineer and / or member of professional Project management association
- At least 15 years' experience in the oil and gas industry in both on shore and offshore facilities, At least 5 years' experience in project management roles
- Experienced in project management techniques and contract management
- Excellent spoken and written English
