No experience / No degreeOur North Sea Operator client require a Barge Supervisor on a permanent staff basis.
2/3 rotation on a North Sea FPSO asset.
STCW Reg II/2 Chief Mate certification preferred, minimum requirement of STCW OOW Certification.
Supports the Barge Master to ensure the installations station keeping, vessel stability during loading/offloading operations and associated marine activities.
This position reports directly to the Barge Master.
Key Responsibilities:
Understanding of process safety and major accident hazard management to be able to effectively contribute and influence business decisions impacting process safety.
Commitment to incident free operations.
Ensuring all marine & deck activities are conducted in a manner that protects the health, safety, environment and welfare of the people and assets of the installation.
Where appropriate, position to provide input to major accident hazard management, in particular the prevention, detection, control, mitigation and response to major accidents.
Ensuring work programs are executed in a safe, competent and timely manner, are correctly prioritised and resourced (manpower and equipment) and optimised within the overall work load on the installation, to meet asset business goals and objectives.
Build effective working relationships with other departments and shifts.
Ensure vessel position and heading is maintained and implements changes to vessel heading as required.
Management and effective operation of cargo storage and export, ballast control, and power management systems, and be able to demonstrate compliance with the asset assurance & verification scheme elements under his authority.
Line supervisor for ensuring that all operational & first-line maintenance activities strictly adhere to safe system of work, all contractors and vendors are adequately supervised and time managed.
Ensure installation safety systems provide the means of evacuation and / or escape, and to ensure helicopter systems & lifesaving appliances are at optimum readiness.
Supervise, coach and support direct reports in a professional manner.
As part of the Asset team, assist with delivering;
Continuous performance improvement for the facility
Optimisation of offshore crew.
Cross facility assistance
Management of contractors on board
Recommend changes to equipment and assurance routines to improve performance, efficiency, cost management and productivity.
In emergency situations execute duties as specified in the station bill/emergency response procedures or as directed by the OIM.
Comply with Company procedures and ensure a full and comprehensive handover detailing all relevant information in accordance with these procedures.
Commit to Competence Assurance System and undertake any training and assessment activities as appropriate to the role.
Responsible to the Barge Master for ensuring that the station keeping and marine systems are operated safely and effectively, and in a manner which re-enforces company values and assures the integrity, reliability and compliance of the asset.
In accordance with delegation of authority
Responsible for the health, safety and welfare of crew, and areas of environment pertaining to their position.
Key knowledge and experience:
FPSO experience.
Tanker Endorsement (Oil)
DP or TAMS experience with DP Advanced Training.
Experience of maintenance scheduling, organizing, coordinating and controlling/monitoring work.
Knowledge of marine systems, associated technical standards, processes and relevant legislation.
Experience in the control and use of “Safe Systems of Work” (PTW) including their procedures.
Vendor management experience.
Supervisory experience, written and verbal communication skills and the ability to present complex technical issues in a clear and concise manner.
Ability to create positive relations to peers and stakeholders internally and externally.
Ability to manage risks in an effective manner.
Be action orientated, results driven and able to inspire others.
