Client Inspector 
About our client Our client is a leading European organization playing a key role in the energy transition. With ambitious plans to expand renewable energy capacity, the company is heavily involved in large-scale projects that enable offshore wind energy to be connected to the electricity grid.
These projects are part of a broader initiative to accelerate the transition to a sustainable and climate-neutral energy system across Europe. The focus lies on developing high-capacity grid infrastructure to transport energy generated by offshore wind farms to the mainland.
Project environment You will be working within a department responsible for large offshore energy infrastructure projects. Several high-voltage grid connection systems are currently being developed to transport power generated offshore to the national electricity grid.
These projects are currently in the engineering and manufacturing phase, involving multiple international suppliers responsible for producing critical electrical and automation equipment.
Your role As Client Inspector – Electrical & Instrumentation, you will represent the client during inspections at vendor and manufacturing locations. Your responsibility will be to ensure that supplied equipment and systems meet the required technical standards, quality requirements, and contractual specifications.
Key responsibilities
  • Support the Package Lead and QC Coordinator in reviewing vendor quality deliverables (such as as-built documentation and punch lists).
  • Provide quality support to Electrical, Instrumentation, and Control/Automation disciplines.
  • Monitor the execution of Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) during vendor manufacturing activities.
  • Witness inspection activities including:
    • electrical inspections
    • hardware and software testing
    • Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs)
  • Identify, report, and follow up on quality issues, including NCRs and open points.
  • Ensure compliance with the technical requirements for E&I and automation equipment.
  • Coordinate with the internal QC team regarding inspections, quality issues, and test plans.
  • Facilitate remote inspections when required through digital tools or video inspection technologies.
  • Act as the client representative during inspections and testing at vendor facilities.
Profile We are looking for a candidate with strong experience in quality inspection within technical or industrial projects.
Requirements
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a QC inspection role.
  • Experience with offshore projects within industries such as Oil & Gas, Renewables, or Shipping.
  • Experience reviewing and developing QC plans and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
  • Knowledge of international codes and standards such as:
    • IEC
    • ISO
    • BS
    • API
    • ATEX
    • EEMUA
  • Experience inspecting a variety of electrical and instrumentation equipment, including:
    • switchgear
    • breakers
    • bushings
    • electric drives
    • automation systems
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
  • Dutch language skills are considered a plus, but not mandatory.
Working environment
  • Primary location: Arnhem
  • Approximately two days per week on-site, remaining days hybrid
  • Frequent international travel to vendor manufacturing locations within Europe
  • Around 30–60% office work focused on reviewing vendor documentation and reporting
Contract details
  • Start date subject to successful pre-employment screening
  • Contract duration: approximately two years
  • Candidates must reside in the Netherlands
  • Valid European driver’s license required
