SPIE Global Services Energy is currently looking for Instrumentation Maintenance Specialist to join its workforce on ERHA project in Nigeria.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on FPSO instrumentation including: Pressure, temperature, flow, and level transmitters
Process and utilities instrumentation
Fiscal and allocation metering instrumentation
Analytical systems (GCs, water cut, BS&W, H₂S, O₂, moisture, pH/conductivity)
Maintain and troubleshoot control valves and final control elements (pneumatic, hydraulic, electric actuators, ESD valves, MOVs interface instrumentation).
Diagnose and resolve control loop issues from field device through I/O, PLC/DCS, to final element.
Support FPSO-specific systems such as: Cargo, offloading, and marine systems instrumentation, Utilities (power generation, water treatment, air, nitrogen)
Turbine and compressor package instrumentation
Tank gauging and custody transfer support systems
Execute and document work in the CMMS (SAP), maintaining accurate history and technical feedback.
Control & Safety-Critical Systems
Maintain and test Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) including: ESD (Process, Marine & Utilities), Fire & Gas detection systems
Conduct Safety Integrity Level proof testing, functional testing, loop checks, and cause‑and‑effect verification in line with site procedures.
Support DCS/PLC systems through I/O checks, signal verification, field interface troubleshooting, and commissioning support.
Participate in MoC, FAT, SAT, startup, shutdown, and FPSO life‑of‑field modifications.
Mentoring, Coaching & Training (Core Expectation)
Act as a technical mentor for offshore instrumentation technicians, providing hands‑on coaching, job guidance, and technical leadership.
Support competence assurance programs by identifying skill gaps
Coaching technicians through task-based assessments
Verifying work quality and safe execution
Deliver on-the-job training in:
Calibration techniques and best practices
Control valve maintenance and diagnostics
Analyzer maintenance and sample systems
SIS and Fire & Gas testing procedures
Technical Competencies
Advanced knowledge of FPSO instrumentation and control systems.
Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting capability under offshore operational constraints.
Working knowledge of DCS/PLC systems, field communication protocols (4-20 mA, HART, Fieldbus, Modbus).
Experience maintaining SIS, Fire & Gas, and ESD systems.
Proficient with calibration and diagnostic tools and valve diagnostic equipment.
