Task and responsibilities

The Senior Instrument Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the high availability, accuracy, and safe operation of all offshore field instrumentation and control elements. Operating under minimal supervision, the role involves executing complex maintenance strategies—Preventive, Predictive, and Corrective—to minimize process downtime. The technician provides technical mentorship to junior staff and ensures all activities strictly adhere to offshore safety protocols, environmental standards, and hazardous area (ATEX/CompEx) compliance.

Job Description:

• Performing a wide range of technical tasks including, but not limited to installing, repairing, troubleshooting and calibration on a wide variety of Instrumentation such as pressure, temperature, flow, level transmitters, solenoid valves control valves, SDVs and B DVs in oil & gas plants.
• Ensuring work compliance to the standards, tolerances, and fits, compile with HSE policies and procedures.
• Senior Instrument Technician assumes high level of responsibility for the safe and timely completion of assigned jobs in the field.
• Responsible for preparing PTW and other supporting documents as per job requirement.
• He should be able to work under pressure and has willingness to work in varying conditions.
• Candidate must work with limited supervision and should be able to provide work directions to company's technicians. Assists and mentor junior technicians.
• Performing a wide range of maintenances tasks including, but not limited to routine preventive maintenance, installing, repairing, troubleshooting and calibration on a wide variety of fixed Fire & Gas detection systems, pressure safety valves, control valves, wellhead Instrumentation, Loop checks, repair, and function test, turbines, power generators, firefighting system, safety equipment, automatic control systems, subsea, etc.
• Issue relevant Certificates of Inspection for equipment Calibration as per Company Procedure and international standards.
• Perform Maintenance on the Instrumentation equipment under ATEX class as per norms and regulation. Review in store and MAXIMO instrumentation stock level of spare parts, highlight shortage, adjust stock parameters in case of discrepancies
• Providing technical mentorship to local and junior staff.

• Educational Level and Training:

  • Bachelor or high school degree in Instrumentation, Automation systems, Electrical or recognized Engineering School.
  • MAXIMO Training
  • Excellent competence in written and spoken English
  • ATEX Certificate for hazardous areas Lifting certificate

  Required Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years' direct maintenance experience as an Instrumentation and Automation Maintenance Senior technician or similar role within the Oil and Gas industry.
  • Experience in installation, commissioning, and maintenance of field instruments & control valves. Familiar with PFD, P&lD, Matrix, Cause-Effect, Logic & Loop drawings, datasheet review, instrument index, etc . for daily job requirement.
  • Experience in PLC and automatic control system, Turbines, Compressors, DCS, ESD
  • Good experience and proficiency as well in CMMS.MAXIMO, familiar with and use of basic MS Office applications.
