Job Title: Array Cables Termination & Joint Inspector
Working Location: Offshore UK (Hull)
Contract Type: Contract Position
Start Date: 27-Jul-2026
End Date: 30-Sep-2027 (Possibility of Extension)
Work Schedule: 2 weeks on - 2 weeks off rotation
Rotations: 4 weeks on / 4 weeks off
IR35 Determination: Outside IR35
Key Responsibilities
- Mobilisation on 1/08/2026 in Hull, UK
- Contract start date 1 week prior to mobilization date, with access confirmed (27/07/2026)
- Utilize PPE provided by Resource Coordination & Project Teams; bring previously provided branded PPE if available
- Travel: Mobilisation travel expenses covered by the Project, subject to pre-approval; mileage for personal car use to travel for mobilisation/demobilisation covered; airport parking covered and organised by construction team; hotel information provided by Lead Inspector
- Acting as client representative for the inspection and quality assurance of jointing, termination, and testing (T&T) of cables at site
- Understanding client quality technical requirements and relevant IEC standards, ensuring supplier compliance at site
- Inspecting cable systems including cable hang off systems and termination of high voltage (HVC) and fibre optic cables (FOC) at Offshore Substations (OSS) or Foundations (FOU) to meet project requirements and standards
- QA/QC inspections of termination work
- Witnessing VLF, sheath, HVRT, and OTDR testing, as well as other cable or termination tests as required
- Reviewing T&T-related documentation, including procedures in accordance with Risk Assessment Method Statement (RAMS) from supplier/contractor prior to T&T campaigns
- Complying with and enforcing QHSE requirements at site
- Preparing Daily Progress Reports (DPR) for Cable Technical Scope Manager and updating progress tables as required
- Preparing or ensuring approved Permit-to-Work in place prior to T&T activities at site
- Interfacing with and ensuring effective communication with Wind Turbine Generator (WTG), Foundation (FOU), Offshore Substation (OSS), Construction/Offshore Logistics (CONS), and Offshore Cable Installation (OCI) teams at site
- Preparing or adapting inspection checklists for offshore T&T phase (including use of Digital Inspection Tool)
- Ensuring T&T activities are carried out safely and timely, including availability of calibrated test equipment
- Gathering weather data and ensuring T&T activities occur within acceptable weather windows
- Ensuring daily shift report is handed over to next inspector by end of shift
- Managing change requirements (not covered under change requests)
- Responsible for punch list, handover certification, non-conformance report (NCR) management, and lessons learnt in relevant software during offshore T&T phase, including communication of non-conformance/damage defect notifications to Project Engineer and Technical Scope Manager
- Reviewing and accepting T&T-related as-built documentation, where required
- Participating in internal team and external supplier T&T-related meetings
Requirements
- Minimum 6 years offshore working experience and valid certificates proofing qualification to work offshore as a Jointer for 66-kV connections such as Pfisterer, TE Tyco, or similar
- Compulsory: GWOs, Seafarers Offshore Medical, Advanced First Aid Course (full course only), Firefighting course, Sea survival and transfer training, Climbing and Rescue at heights training (renewed annually for relevant locations), confined space training, Helicopter transfer training
- Desirable: HV/MV Jointing training or experience, VLF testing training or experience, OTDR testing training or experience, Safe Work in High Voltage Substation Environments, Safe Work in Low Voltage Substation Environments
- Skills in HV/MV cable jointing/termination, cable ladder/cleating systems, subsea cable hang off systems, earthing and bonding of cable systems, familiarity with CDM regulations 2015 (where relevant), and experience with IT tools/procedures
- Profiles with Fiber Optical Cable Termination experience are encouraged to apply
