GENERAL INFORMATION
Job Title: Cable Laying Supervisor
Department: Offshore Section: Operations - Barges

REPORTING, INTERACTION LINES & OPERATING ENVIRONMENT

Functionally reports to Working relationships
 Barge Superintendent  Report and communicate directly with the cable
lay superintendent on daily basis

Operationally reports to
 Supervise and guide the Cable Lay operators
 Cable Laying Superintendent

Operating Environment
Supervises
 The role incumbent will primarily work offshore
 Cable Laying Operator and may have to work in confined spaces, at
heights, in extreme weather conditions

JOB PURPOSE
 Responsible for the safe & efficient conduct of cable lay operations and proper maintenance of related cable lay equipment

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
 Train and develop crew members in the operation, maintenance, and repair of cable laying equipment in order to ensure competency, safe practices, and efficient execution of activities.
 Report detailed daily job activities to the Barge Superintendent in order to ensure accurate communication of progress, equipment status, and operational issues.
 Maintain a complete and up-to-date inventory of spare parts, tools, and equipment in order to ensure availability and prevent operational delays.
 Verify that all required cable laying equipment, tools, and accessories are available onboard and properly prepared in order to ensure smooth and uninterrupted operations.
 Maintain a well-documented log of all accessories mobilized with cable laying equipment in order to ensure traceability and proper asset control.
 Supervise the dismantling and demobilization of cable laying equipment and ensure proper maintenance during idle periods in order to maintain equipment reliability and readiness.
 Maintain detailed records of equipment condition before and after cable laying activities in order to identify maintenance requirements and ensure operational efficiency.
 Liaise regularly with the Chief Mechanic in order to ensure timely inspection, servicing, and maintenance of equipment.
 Implement necessary measures to establish and maintain a safe working environment in order to protect personnel and equipment during operations.
 Ensure all activities are carried out in compliance with company policies, procedures, and HSE standards in order to maintain safe and controlled operations.
 Coordinate with offshore operations and engineering teams in order to ensure alignment of cable laying activities with project schedules and technical requirements.
 Monitor cable laying operations and identify potential issues or delays in order to take corrective actions and maintain project timelines.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS & RELEVANT EXPERIENCE
CERTIFICATIONS
 Secondary School Certificate with a discipline-specific technical qualification, or equivalent
 Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in Oil & Gas Industry
