MISSIONS / SERVICE DIMENSIONS
JOB DIMENSIONS
The Offshore Pipeline AUT Inspector, working onboard a contractor reel-lay vessel, will oversee the reporting staff onboard and report directly to the Offshore Pipeline QC Lead. During the offshore installation phase, the Offshore Pipeline AUT Inspector will assist the Quality Control Lead with technical appraisal and supervision of the pipelay campaign operations. The scope of work will focus on the installation of 22 inch pipe, welding activities, and AUT inspection.
ACTIVITIES
- Review all AUT (PAUT, TOFD) scanner activities
- Witness all welding inspection activities during offshore installation, referring to ITP
- Support and interact with the Welding Inspector during welding inspection
- Review final release inspection of pipeline and Test Packages, mechanical completion (ITR)
- Witness hydro test or pneumatic test (if necessary)
- Review reports and final dossier documentation prior to submission
- Raise, monitor, and support the Quality Lead to close NCRs, ensuring effective corrective and preventive actions
- Support punch list identification
- Contribute to lessons learned and close-out report
CONTEXT AND ENVIRONMENT
- Large-scale LNG development with a multi-year construction period, substantial capital investment, and a large, multinational workforce based across several global hubs and Mozambique
- Subsea to shore dry gas field development in northern Mozambique, with long-term production operations
- Subsea infrastructure including multiple subsea wells, production manifolds, trunk lines, MEG lines, in-field flowlines, associated tie-ins and terminations, control modules, onshore and subsea umbilicals, UTA assemblies, electrohydraulic flying leads, and flexible/rigid jumpers and spools
ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Ensure high-quality execution of installation campaigns during AUT activities before pipe deployment
- Ensure execution of the work on time and to the required quality, while respecting all safety requirements
- Ensure that contractor activities comply with project standards and specifications
QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Certified CSWIP or similar, minimum Level 2 AUT interpreter; NDTs ISO 9712 is a plus
- Minimum 15 years' experience in the Oil & Gas industry with related offshore technical, quality and HSE oversight experience, including at least 10 years of offshore pipelay installation
- Ability to work effectively in a high-stress, fast-paced environment within an international and multicultural team
- Ability to multitask, work as part of a small and flexible team, and manage interfaces between multiple contractors
- Onboard vessel experience in inspecting offshore installation contractors
- Fluency in English
- Current BOSIET and OGUK Medical certification prior to mobilizing offshore
