Project Director
The Project Director main responsibilities are:
- Provide day to day oversight, direction and leadership to the PMC Team
- Resource a competent PMC Management Team to deliver the PMC Scope of Work across the Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning phases of the project.
- Maintain regular liaison with Client Senior Management team to provide updates on emerging EPC project schedule, scope of work, HSE and Quality issues, and PMC contract and performance matters.
- Ensure that PMC team fully operates within PMC contract terms, allocated budget and manpower resources.
- Direct the preparation and presentation of PMC Progress Reports for Client (external) and (internal) reviews.
- Lead PMC team and represent Client (where necessary) during EPC Contractor Performance Review meetings with the EPC Contractor and ensure that emerging issues are pro-actively identified with appropriate corrective action in place.
- Ensure that Contract Variation Process for both the EPC and PMC Contracts are established to satisfy Client Ministry of Oil internal approval procedures.
Typical background and experience required:
An experienced Project Manager with a minimum of 15 years’ experience design office and site experience gained with an EPC Contractor.
Must have:
- Project management experience of PMC projects
- Project management experience on large EPC projects, especially refineries.
- Must be able to demonstrate significant knowledge of European, American and International standards applicable to the oil & gas and petrochemical industries
- Ability to apply in-depth skills and broad knowledge to address complex problems and non-standard situations. Solves complex problems; takes a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions
- Capable of explaining difficult concepts and able to persuade others to adopt a point of view. Able to motivate other team members
- A relevant engineering degree from an accredited university
