Drilling Superintendent - Algeria

On behalf of a major operator, WRS are seeking an experienced Drilling Superintendent to oversee and manage offshore drilling operations. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and a commitment to safety and operational excellence. The role will be offered on a 12 month renewable contract, rotating 28/28 into country, paying a day rate.

Job Duties:

• Plan, coordinate, and execute drilling operations in compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.
• Ensure all drilling activities are conducted safely, efficiently, and within budget.
• Oversee rig performance, monitor KPIs, and drive continuous improvements.
• Manage personnel, including contractors and service providers, ensuring high performance and adherence to standards.
• Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and quality regulations.
• Supervise and support well control operations and incident response as required.
• Oversee equipment selection, procurement, and timely delivery of required services.
• Report non-conformances and implement corrective actions.
• Facilitate knowledge transfer and training for drilling supervisors and engineers.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 10 years of relevant drilling experience
• Degree in a relevant field (or extensive industry experience in lieu of formal education).
• Experience working for an oil & gas operator
• Experience working on remote, desert projects (Algeria experience ideal)
• IWCF-approved Well Control Certificate.
• Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage crisis situations effectively.
