Qualification:
• Minimum high technical school or equivalent Painting certification from a recognized
organization such as NACE, TWI etc. NACE LEVEL II OR BGAS-CSWIP GRADE II is a
must.
CLASSIFICATION: C1 - CONTROLLED
Experience:
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in the Oil & Gas Downstream Industry with an
international consultancy company, Third Party inspection/certification Company, EPIC
contractor or end user in major projects implementation is essential.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
• Ensure that the quality requirements of the fabrication, construction and installation
activities, as detailed in QE’s main contractor approved QC procedure and plans, are
implemented in accordance with QE’s approved project documents.
• Ensure that Contractor, Sub-Contractors and Vendors have the required competent
resources, implant internationally acceptable practices and delivery of a product in
compliance to QE Corporate and Project Quality requirements.
• Monitor all site and fabrication yard coating activities and ensure that all welding joints
were coated as per QE approved standards.
• Carry out systematic inspection at each stage of surface preparation, painting/wrapping
and repair works.
• Witness all contractors’ painters and blasters qualifications carried out by paint
manufacturer and evaluate their associated testing results.
• Verify the implementation of the proposed inspection system for all preparatory, painting
and wrapping work via a series of Hold Points in the work schedule, from which the
contractor shall not proceed until he is given formal clearance by the QE Engineer.
• Monitor the stage (in-process) inspection of offshore steel structure fabrications, and top
side facilities at contractor fabrication premises and verify the product conformity to QE
corporate standard, project specs, and international codes/standard.
• Report daily to QA/QC Engineer and advise him on the QE’s main contractor compliance
to contract procedures and standards and any matters effecting quality.
