- Oversee the process/ path / discipline for the specific asset / project /product, and recommend material / changes / that will suit the design / operation / project / build
- Implement the operation support strategy for the specific Engineering process/ path / discipline & support the implementation of key projects and initiatives related to specific assets
- Oversee the feasibility study, Process optimization study, energy optimization study, FEED study and support to EPC project.
- Design, develop, build, test, modify and implement complex systems / processes / products / assets
- Analyze problems, Investigate equipment failures or difficulties to diagnose faulty, troubleshoots, and collaborate with coworkers to find solutions by initiating / find route cause and proposes solutions / recommend remedies to for implementation
- Create a failure analysis library to learn from previous mistakes
- Generating reports and writing project proposals
- Presenting design and research to customers
- Advising staff with process recommendations
- Analyses plant’s data, using Plant Information (PI) and Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) - and provides remedial solutions in case of any deviation.
- Identifies opportunities to optimize operations in designated plants, within and across process units or equipment.
- Analyses, reviews and provides input regarding design work performed by internal/ external engineering resources, which results in process optimization.
- Prepares and analyses Heat and Material Balances, Process Flow Diagrams, designs minor plant modifications and follows through to the project completion.
- Analyses, monitors, assesses and reports specific equipment performance specifications such as reactors, drums, compressors etc.,
- Provide input, participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and proposes corrective actions for performance improvement.
- Prepares data, provides input and participates in HAZOP studies for any modification of existing facilities and plants.
- Analysis and organizing preliminary technical documents for tender submissions.
- Prepares technical procedures in line with modifications and new systems implemented.
- Develops design, analysis or findings of specific equipment.
- Support the plant turnaround scope preparation and process equipment inspection.
- Carry out the new catalyst technical evaluation during the selection process and the performance test run.
- Carry out the new chemical technical evaluation during the selection process and the performance test run.
- Analyze the benchmarking study process results and propose improvement recommendations.
- Coordinate with the relevant technology licensors and consultants to ensure their compliance with the committed technical service scope.
- Analyze the long-term plant performance data and drive the debottlenecking studies.
- Analyze the long-term plant performance data to improve the asset yields, energy efficiency and operating cost.
- 8-10 years of relevant experience within the Oil & Gas / Refinery / Petrochemical industry, preferably with experience in the area/assets associated with this position. Experience in Refinery Process Units (Steam Cracker, Pygas, NGLE, MTBE and Polymers plant.) are preferred.
- Experience in feasibility study, FED study and EPC project.
- Experience in process optimization projects, energy optimization projects.
- Experience in chemical, catalyst and study tender technical evaluations and scope of work preparation.
- Experience and well versed in field investigation, inspections, troubleshooting, performance checks, data compilation, etc.
- Expertise of Process Plant (P& ID / PFD) & Engineering drawings and OEM manuals.
- Expertise in software applications like Petrosim, Hysys, PI, and LIMS etc.
- Knowledge in Refinery, Steam Cracker and Aromatics operations (Process, Static & Rotating Equipment)
- Experience in benchmarking studies like Solomon.
- Experience in Asset Master Data governance.
- Sound judgment in technical matters with good skills in engineering field materials specifications and international standards.
- Expertise for budgeting and cost control.
