Position Overview
The refinery is seeking a Laboratory Technician I to support process, product, environmental, and standards testing within the site laboratory. This role helps reduce overtime and maintain safe, compliant operations while multiple long‑term vacancies are filled. The technician will perform routine and specialized analyses following established methods and quality programs.

The technician will perform routine and specialized analyses following established methods and quality programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct analyses on process samples, finished products, laboratory standards, and outfall water using approved analytical methods.
- Document regulatory data and maintain complete, accurate records in alignment with the site's Laboratory Quality Assurance program.
- Coordinate sample logistics with environmental lab personnel; prepare and deliver analysis reports to engineers, operations, and maintenance teams.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure a clean, contamination‑free work environment.
- Perform QA/QC checks to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
- Apply analytical standards, regulatory requirements, and problem‑solving skills to address technical issues.
- Communicate effectively and demonstrate teamwork while following all safety, environmental, and laboratory procedures.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- 1 year of refinery or chemical laboratory experience
OR an associate degree or higher in a science/technical field - Basic math and analytical skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Valid TWIC credential
- Ability to be on your feet for most of a 12‑hour shift
- Ability to wear required PPE, including flame‑resistant clothing, leather boots, and an H2S monitor
- Experience in laboratory QA programs and loss control processes
- Hands‑on experience with analytical instruments such as GC, HPLC, XRF, ICP, and titration systems
- Experience with environmental or outfall water monitoring and reporting
- Familiarity with refinery laboratory procedures and safety practices
