Job Dimension & Context
The job holds direct accountability of all Geology aspects of operating and optimizing the production and the performance of the Ratawi oil field (AGUP, ~6 G$ Capex).
AGUP project is the full development of Ratawi giant field (STOIIP>10 Gbo, Reserves 1.8 Gbo):
• AGUP Phase 1 brown field: increase production to 120 kbopd.
• AGUP Phase 2 large scale development targeting a production plateau of 220kbpd from 2028.
• Complex deep and shallow reservoirs (both carbonates and clastics) with Low pressure (Heavy oil) and High Pressure (Light Oil), to be developed in parallel.
• Heavy drilling campaign to be executed (3 rigs): 304 vertical and horizontal wells.
• Gas injection for zero flaring and acid gas disposal in synergy with GMP.
. Job Description
The job holds direct responsibility for the production and the performance of the Ratawi oil field for the AGUP Phase 2 Project, through geoscience data acquisition, 2G&R synthesis, geological model updates/building, and field development optimization. He or she will:
Scouting for regional geological (structural and depositional) contexts of the developed reservoirs.
• Participate in the definition, coordination and follow up of geological specialty studies. Ensure appropriate geoscience data integration into the development of Ratawi AGUP Phase-2 project and near-by upsides.
• Perform 2G&R synthesis, updating and rebuilding reservoir models.
• Ensure the evaluation of in-place volumes and associated uncertainties.
• Participate in delivering the well drilling sequence, and the geosciences-reservoir data acquisition in wells for AGUP Phase-2.
• Participate in the monitoring of development wells, contribute to the reservoir monitoring plan, and the updates of Field development plan of AGUP Phase-2 project
. Qualifications
Education: Degree in geology or petroleum geosciences.
• Work Experience: Minimum years of experience in petroleum geology, including at least one experience in an operated asset.
• Knowledge of carbonate and clastic reservoir deposition, sequence stratigraphy, regional tectonics evolution and impacts on reservoir geometry and quality.
• Knowledge of 2G&R synthesis
• Experience of using geomodelling tools for geological model building.
• Ability in developing good relationships within the internal departments, with projects teams.
• Ability to understand, explain and present complex technical material to both technical and non-technical audiences in a persuasive and convincing manner.
• Soft skills: Open Mindset, anticipation, and agility to adapt to workstream, ability to listen, proactive behavior, resilience sometimes.
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary and multi-cultural team.
• Languages: fluent in English.
