Automation Engineer (Qatar – Local Hiring Only)

We are currently looking for an experienced Automation Engineer to join our team in Qatar. Candidates must be locally available in Qatar with relevant experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, or fertilizer industries.

Key Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Instrumentation / Electronics Engineering
• Minimum 10 years of experience in Industrial Control Systems within oil & gas / petrochemical / fertilizer plants
• Strong hands-on experience in:
• DCS / ESD / PLC systems
• Industrial Control Systems (ICS)
• Turbo Machinery Control & Protection Systems
• Cybersecurity and industrial networking
• Proven experience in:
• Maintenance and troubleshooting of automation systems
• Commissioning and project execution
• Shutdown and routine maintenance activities
• Good understanding of:
• Permit to Work (PTW) system
• HSE standards and safe work practices in industrial environments
• Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine, corrective, and shutdown maintenance of automation systems
• Support installation, testing, and commissioning of control systems
• Maintain and improve reliability of DCS, SIS, and other automation systems
• Troubleshoot system issues and provide root cause analysis
• Ensure compliance with safety, cybersecurity, and operational standards
• Support project execution, engineering activities, and system upgrades
• Coordinate with vendors and internal teams for smooth execution of work

Additional Requirements

• Experience in large-scale industrial plants is required
• Knowledge of cybersecurity practices for automation systems is an advantage
• Ability to work in a site-based, fast-paced environment
• Willing to be on call duty when required
