Field Operator
Job Title: Field Operator
Working Location: Dubai
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure that all plant and equipment under your control are operated safely and efficiently.
- Promptly and efficiently carry out all instructions as given by the Shift Supervisor or Main Control Room Operator.
- Record routine parameter readings regularly and report any deviations.
- Inform the Supervisor or control room of any abnormalities or problems on equipment.
- Ensure standby equipment is readily available for service in an emergency.
- Assist in carrying out routine testing and re-commissioning of the plant after maintenance outages.
- Adopt safe working practices to ensure personal and plant safety at all times.
- Identify hazards and actively participate in the hazard reporting system.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping in the workplace.
- Be fully conversant with all emergency procedures related to equipment in your designated area of responsibility.
- Participate in on-the-job training and strive to achieve increased competency.
Additional Roles (Jebel Ali Site):
- For positions including Operator Turbine & Boiler and Assistant Operator at the Jebel Ali Site, the above accountabilities are focused on Gas Turbines, Steam Turbines, associated plant equipment, and related utilities.
Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Higher Secondary School Certificate.
Minimum Experience:
- 4 years in a power station.
- 2 years of work experience as a Desalination Operator (or equivalent experience in a similar industry).
Skills:
- Proven competencies in all areas except DCR operation.
- Proficient English language skills to prepare and complete shift reports (Intermediate 3 or equivalent level).
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Basic numeracy, including concentration, percentage, unit conversion, and rate calculations.
- Ability to understand single line diagrams.
- IT skills and proficiency in basic computer use.
- Strong problem solving abilities.
- Planning and organising capabilities.
- Interpersonal and teamwork skills.
