T&I Yard Specialist

Job Purpose:

• The T&I Yard specialist function is to plan and control all Transport & Installation Site / Office based activities in Karimun Island (Indonesia) with potential occasional trip to an heavy lift vessel in offshore Qatar. The specialist shall monitor the readiness of the various facilities (Topsides, Bridges, Jackets) fabricated in Karimun Yard for offshore transportation and installation. His function will also cover, review, overseeing and implementing efficient, quality, and safe operational procedures that comply with the relevant standards, codes of practise and contract specification.
• Follow all yard activities related to T&I (preparation, readiness follow up, pre-rigging, float-on, sail away, etc.) and provide loadout support to the COMPANY Fabrication Team as needed.
• Follow up with COMPANY Marine Warranty Surveyor in support to the COMPANY Fabrication Team during the course of loadout and seafastening until Certificate of Approval (CoA) is issued for sailaway.

Key Accountabilities:

• Thorough understanding of the project scope of works (i.e. drawings, specifications, contracts obligations and project programme.)
• Support the Site Team for Jackets/Topsides/Bridges fabrication readiness in preparation for loadout, marine movement for Tugs/CB and float-on operations on transportation vessel.
• Oversee and administer T&I daily flash report and site daily report and submit to T&I office PMT & Managers.
• Provide key site interface with T&I MWS at Yard for the issuance of various COAs.
• Ensure that all Quality Control documents and checklists are being filled on timely basis related to T&I installation aids.
• Conduct and document frequent internal site meetings with QG Fabrication team & CONTRACTOR Fabrication/T&I teams to maintain past, present, and assess future performance requirements related all T&I matters.
• Maintain close liaison with Fabrication PMT, Fabrication site representatives and Contractor representatives.
• Ensure safety standards are fully respected on all Yard site.
• Prepare specific project-working schedules and liaise with the PMT and T&I Project Managers for the incorporation of such schedules during fabrication process and completion, loadout and transportation operation.
• Ensure that all changes to T&I scope of work made by COMPANY Fabrication representative or Contractor Fabrication/T&I Team are written, signed, and a copy of the statement is transmitted to the CPY T&I PMT.
• Attend the Fabrication and T&I progress meetings in yard as COMPANY T&I rep as nominated and/or required.
• Ensure all materials, equipment and installation aids necessary for Jackets/Topsides transportation and installation progress of work are available on site and report any cases of delays and/or unavailability.
• Prepare, control, and administer all project inspections and test plans, Review Method Statements and Checklists and other quality requirements in conjunction with the T&I requirements.
• Witness and Co-ordinate with other trade site contractors & sub-contractors relating to T&I matters to ensure interface problems are avoided and maximum quality work achieved.
• Joint Inspection of the fabricated and installed components with COMPANY Fabrication Team and Contractor T&I representative in the yard for T&I related fabrication scope.

Minimum Requirements:

• Degree in Engineering.  Preference will be given to those who attended courses and/or training in quality and safety issues.
• Minimum 10 years experience of relevant discipline in Oil/Gas relating to offshore installation of structural components (jackets, topsides, bridges) and in fabrication yard, heavy lifts loadout and Float-on operations of major projects with a reputable contracting company.
• Strong communication and reporting skills.
• Computer literate, Microsoft office components
• Good Command of English written and spoken.
• Team player with strong inter-personal skills.
