Document Controller

Personal Attributes, Education & Qualifications

  • A degree in a relevant engineering or technology discipline i.e., MSc, BEng, BSc (Hons) or similar.
  • Ability to multi-task, forward plan, independently manage time and perform at a high level without the need for continuous supervision.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, with an ability to prioritize work and make decisions to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, exercising tolerance and respect when working within a diverse and multi-national project team.
  • A good command of English both verbal and written.
  • A good command of verbal Mandarin with reading being an advantage.

Position Recommended Qualifications, Experience & Skills

  • Minimum 7 years of work experience of which at least 5 years must be directly associated with the document control functions for oil & gas projects.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and experience in the document control processes and procedures for offshore upstream oil & gas projects.
  • Shall possess good knowledge and awareness of roles and responsibilities for document issue/transfer between concerned entities and be familiar with generating MDR (Master Document Register) in compliance with document numbering/writing procedure and standard template.
  • Must have knowledge for FEED projects and be familiar with distributing documents properly.
  • Must possess a good understanding of the basic discipline work processes of FEED project.

Position Role and Responsibilities

  • Prepare document control & writing procedures and other relevant procedures/manuals/guidelines for execution of FEED project.
  • Review and assess all document related document control and writing to be generated by Contractor to meet the quality of the documentation with project requirement.
  • Review and evaluate all document to be issued by Contractor in documentation point of view.
  • Manage all project document including deliverables, letters, queries, instructions and others to be issued by Contractor and Company.
  • Instruct and educated other document controllers.
  • Be the administrator of EDMS (Electronic Document Management System).
  • Prepare distribution matrix for all document to be issued by Contractor and distribute documents in a timely manner.
  • Interface and liaise with Contractor and/or subcontractor, Company’s offices on issues affecting the document matters.
  • Support Senior Project Engineer or Project Engineer on area of general administration.
  • Report document status and outstanding issues regularly.

HSE

  • Responsible for own safety and the protection of others.
  • Assist Company in developing a strong safety culture both within the team and on the project.
  • Timely intervention and reporting of known risks and hazards.
  • Quality/HSE Focus and team oriented.
  • Play active role in all HES related areas.
