Qa/Qc Manager
Job scope (budget, management, specific criteria):
The QA Manager’s main responsibilities are:
- Provide the principal point of contact for all quality management issues on the project.
- Review the EPC Contractor’s Quality Plans and procedures to ensure compliance with contract requirements.
- Comment on Contractor Method Statements to ensure quality requirements are addressed where applicable.
- Review the EPC Contractor’s Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), soliciting input from relevant PMC construction superintendents and field engineers, including review/assignment of appropriate Hold & Witness points to ensure Company/PMC inspection involvement is correctly specified.
- Plan, perform and report on audits of the EPC Contractor’s activities on-site and off-site (e.g. pre-fabrication activities) and follow up on issues raised.
- Review and distribute inspection reports and follow up on issues identified.
- Monitor resolution of any NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports) raised during construction & inspection.
- Perform routine surveillance of site construction activities.
- Perform critical inspection activities as required by ITPs.
- Ensure that the EPC Contractor prepares a monthly QA report including quality related metrics for review by the Project Director and respective PMC management.
- Review Certification Dossiers prepared by the EPC Contractor during compilation and at completion.
- Be fully familiar with the PMC project and construction procedures related to his/her duties.
- Be fully familiar with:
- The EPC Contractor’s methods of construction and procedures.
- The drawings, technical data and codes of practice applicable to the project.
- Technip’s and the EPC Contractor’s QA/QC requirements.
Typical background and experience required:
An experienced QA Manager with a minimum of 15 years’ experience including design office and site experience gained with an EPC Contractor.
Must have:
- QA management experience of PMC projects
- QA management experience on large EPC projects
- An engineering degree from an accredited university
- Must be familiar with ISO 9001 and local construction related requirements
- Must be experienced in performing Quality Audits (certification/approved auditor status preferred)
