The Crude Oil Scheduler will work in an open, fast-paced environment with a team of Schedulers, Traders, and Analysts in Calgary and Houston, to optimize crude oil supply throughout Phillips 66's refining system and commercial businesses. Responsibilities May Include:
  • Accountable for coordinating crude oil/condensate logistics related to refinery supply, lease, and discretionary trading for Phillips 66 Canada.
  • Schedules nominations and confirms movements via various distribution channels through internal and third-party scheduling systems for pipelines, tanks, waterborne and other modes of transportation.
  • Prepare and maintain daily the monthly supply/demand balance and lease forecasts required to plan around the supply, markets, and pipeline disruptions provide updates on positions, and respond to unexpected events making contingency plans to minimize disruption to supply or movements.
  • Help create value by optimizing supply/demand portfolio, and batch trading while increasing transportation efficiency and minimizing per-barrel transportation costs.
  • Confirm, manage, and update daily supply-demand with trader and scheduler deal tickets.
  • Manage, update, and tie out SAP with crude oil movements from nominations to shipper balance actuals.
  • Prepare, confirm, and submit weekly system inventory levels vs targets for Supply and Trading business.
  • Undertake appropriate apportionment calculations to ensure accurate positions.
  • Prepare and maintain internal reports.
  • Establish and maintain internal and external industry relationships.
  • Provide backup to other schedulers.
  • Provide on-call support and be available to react to dynamic operations, at times outside of core business hours.

Required Qualifications:
  • Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 3 years or more experience in the energy sector supporting supply, trading, or logistical functions
  • Proficient Microsoft Office Suite skills

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Existing knowledge of Canadian crude oil logistics
  • 5 years or more experience in the energy sector supporting supply, trading, or logistical functions
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to support business-focused analysis and decisions
  • Excel Macro building proficiency and advanced Excel preferred
  • Background using systems such as SAP, Alteryx, Tableau
  • Strong organizational and time management skills that will contribute to meeting daily and monthly deadlines
  • Excellent team player
  • Strong work ethic - driven for results and continuous improvement
  • Exceptional interpersonal and influencing skills with the ability to adapt to changing situations while handling competing demands
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple assignments which are broad in scope and complexity
  • Exhibit initiative to continually develop skills and enhance functional knowledge
  • Attention to detail and timeliness
  • Good understanding of downstream operations, supply chains, and value drivers
  • High degree of ethics, personal drive, and dedication to achieve team goals, increase general interest value to the company, and support internal and external customers
  • A self-starter showing initiative, thinking outside the box, generating ideas, and driving improvements in multiple aspects of the P66 business
