The Nacelle Structure sub-module is part of the Nacelle module, which is responsible for all design and development of components in Rear structures and Heli hoist. The Nacelle structure department is working across the Nacelle module to secure world-class quality in both development and processes.
Responsibilities
- FEA assessment and working on local and global FEA modelling for Nacelle Structure & internals components, cover components and base frame & yaw components
- Analyze/write DVRE reports
- Design for functionality, including functional interfaces
- Design performance and reliability including lifetime estimates of the design
- Design verification (incl. FEA), validation and reports
- Design risk associated with the design
- Working closely with Product certification (DNV and other certification)
- Generate solutions for design challenges
Qualifications
- A bachelor's or master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering or similar
- Ideally 3 years of experience in a similar role
- Knowledge of the following software: Ansys Mechanical; Ansys Parametric Design Language (APDL); Ansys Spaceclaim; Creo/Creo View
- Understanding of turbine loads and technical understanding of a wind turbine generator would be an asset, but not a requirement
Competencies
The ideal candidate would bring experience in some or all of the following technical areas:
- Structural/Mechanical engineering and design
- Structural verification of bolt connections
- Experience in steel structure material properties
- Design norms and standards: Eurocodes, European standards, DNV standards
- Knowledge about extreme and fatigue analysis
- Knowledge of system interface design & stakeholder management
- Knowledge about manufacturing methods
- Knowledge of system engineering tools like DFMEA, HSE assessment documentation
- Knowledge about Test & Verification: Understand setup of testing & test result analysis
- Sourcing understanding
- 3rd party certification
- Engineering drawing: knowledge of international engineering design and drawing standards
- Understanding a product life cycle/value chain
Additionally, the preferred candidate would also possess the following soft skills:
- Effective communication skills
- Solid interpersonal skills and ability to build positive working relationships
- A collaborative and team-oriented approach
- Fluency in English (spoken and written)
