The Construction Foreman takes a hands-on leadership role on the job site ensuring prompt, efficient progress of the work. The Foreman determines priorities for work to be done, sometimes on their own initiative and authority, but more often based on needs communicated by management.
Responsibilities
• Operate heavy equipment such as track hoes and backhoes; experience with installing sheet piling is a plus.
• Manage and oversee projects, including the installation of piping, tanks, and associated materials.
• Relay specific project requirements to the Installation Manager to ensure safety, efficiency, and profitability.
• Communicate with customers or their onsite representatives regarding project needs or issues.
• Interpret and apply plans, specifications, environmental regulations, and relevant fire and building codes.
• Attend required meetings, including Pre-Construction and Safety Meetings, and any additional training sessions as directed.
• Maintain detailed daily records of tests, inspections, project progress, visitors, and any factors affecting the project schedule.
• Set a positive example for the crew by adhering to work schedules and uniform standards.
• Supervise daily crew activities and plan for upcoming tasks.
• Provide training opportunities for crew members to develop their skills and assume greater responsibilities.
• Enforce safety protocols, address potential hazards, ensure proper use of personal protective equipment, and conduct weekly safety meetings.
• Uphold a professional company image by maintaining personal appearance, keeping vehicles and job sites clean and orderly, and ensuring courteous conduct from all crew members.
• Adhere to vehicle maintenance policies, ensure cleanliness, and operate vehicles safely.
Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in piping and related products is required.
• Valid driver's license with the ability to operate a construction truck and tow small trailers as needed.
• Must pass a drug screen, criminal background check, and motor vehicle record check.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds repeatedly; frequent bending, stooping, and standing for 8-10 hours daily.
• Willingness to work in all weather conditions and travel up to 50-60% of the time.
• Availability for after-hours work as needed.
