Jr. Estimator (Industrial Construction)

Job Description:

This position will require, but not be limited to, the following duties:

• Assist with the development of detailed cost estimates for industrial construction projects including civil, structural and mechanical project scope.
• Attend client pre-bid meetings at project locations nationally take detailed notes and ask appropriate questions.
• Work with estimating teams for the development project execution plans and schedules including defining work tasks, sequences and schedule durations.
• Perform accurate bid quantity take-offs.
• Solicit subcontractors and suppliers for competitive pricing.
• Assist the senior estimator as needed in preparation for bid reviews.
• Coordinate with other internal departments including safety, quality, procurement and human resources for consideration in costs related to specific project scope.

Job Requirements

• Position reports to corporate office in Deer Park, TX.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience working in a professional environment, preferably construction related.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Ability to read construction drawings and technical specifications.
• Good mathematical skills in geometry and algebra.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize and meet estimating deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management or similar field.
• Must be able to travel.
