Amentum is currently seeking a General Maintenance Worker-HVAC at Fort Carson, Colorado. The hourly pay for this position will be $26.77 per hour, with an additional $8.34 - $10.96 towards Health and Welfare Benefits.
Purpose and Scope:
This position performs general electrical maintenance and repairs on building equipment. The position requires practical skill and knowledge (but not proficiency) in the Electrical and HVAC Trade. Work will include a variety of the following duties: Replacing and repairing wires, switches, fixtures, motors, pumps and other duties while assisting HVAC Technicians with daily duties. Employees will be required to work on top of buildings, in mechanical rooms, in crawl spaces, etc. to do routine maintenance. This requires but is not limited to carrying ladders, utilizing hand tools such as multi-meters, being in small spaces over periods of time, and being able to work at all heights.

WORK ENVIRONMENT, PHYSICAL, AND MENTAL DEMANDS:
On a continuous basis, sit, stand, bend, climb ladders (up to 40 feet), stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and twist for varying periods in the course of work; use hands and fingers to grasp tools; make repetitive hand and body motions; twist and reach below and above shoulder; lift or carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds; to communicate with co-workers using a two-way radio; use telephone, and write or use a keyboard to communicate through written means; see in the normal vision range with or without correction to read computer screen, blueprints, and drafting plans; hear in the normal range with or without correction.
Work is performed both indoors and outdoors environments. Some work is performed with exposure to low to loud noise level; frequent fieldwork is required with exposure to a variety of weather conditions and the external environment; tasks may require working in tightly enclosed spaces and the use of ladders or other safety equipment to gain access to hard to reach locations; some work is performed in crawl spaces, attics or on rooftops. Some work may require exposure to dust, particulates, unpleasant and potentially hazardous substances and high voltage.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Keep accurate log of tools and equipment checked out to journeyman mechanics
- Hand receipt out any tools or equipment leaving the department to any other person or entity without exception
- Safety report due to Safety Manager NLT the 15th of every month
- Hazmat inventory due to Warehouse Manager NLT the 29th of every month
- Monthly USRALS due to the DPW tech monitor, the DPW EPA Manager, and T&H QC monitor NLT 15th of every month. If no monthly activity send email stating so
- Daily turn in to Safety Manager of signed attendance sheet from morning meeting, maintain one copy for HVAC department file
- 5%'s done weekly and turned into HVAC shop lead
- Monthly 5% of property inventory due NLT EOM, send copy to Property office
- Maintain tracker of refrigerant usage
- Maintain tools and equipment in useable, functioning condition
- Deliver/pickup tools, equipment, vehicles, etc. on demand from other entities, government or interdepartmental demand
- Pick up trip tickets for GSA's prior to the 1st of each month
- Maintain refrigerant recovery cylinder stock, check certification dates monthly, keep cylinders in stock and evacuated to a deep vacuum
- Maintain cleanliness of HVAC storage sheds, storage rooms, office, and general areas around all
- Order parts, tools, etc. as requested by journeyman mechanics and supervisor
- Assist journeyman mechanics as necessary, to include ground guiding, transporting and installing equipment and machines, disposal of materials, return of tools and equipment to tool room, etc.
- Work independently on occasion to complete WO's diagnosed by journeyman mechanics
- Any additional assigned tasks
- These duties are subject to change or modification at any time pursuant to management's direction, verbal or written
Minimum Requirements:
- Must be able to lift at least 70-75 lbs.
- Note: for positions requiring use of a Company and/or Customer vehicle, must have a safe driving record as defined by Company policy.
- Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.
- Must pass a criminal background check and drug test. Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization. Note: US Citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work location.
