JOB DESCRIPTION

Wood is currently looking for a Supply Chain Supervisor to join our team in Basra, Iraq on a 4 weeks on / 4 weeks off rotational work

The primary function is to take responsibility and to manage the day-to-day operational functions of freight forwarding, purchase order issuance, freight forwarder contract and cost controlling.

The position will require significant interaction with customs clearance, warehouse, user department and freight forwarder agent.

Responsible for supervising the inland, Air and Sea transportation, managing the purchase order issuance and budget control, monitoring the freight forwarder performance, claiming the damage in the process of land, Air and Sea transportation, and providing freight forwarder performance and budget control reports to management

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise the goods delivery.
• Management and supervision of freight forwarder operations.
• Supervising vessel discharge activities in the process of offloading.
• Supervising transportation from EXW/FCA to WQ1 Base in a safe manner.
• Budget control based on existing logistics service agreements.
• Verification of invoices for freight forwarding works
• Management of the payment for freight forwarder.
• Management of freight forwarding contracts for minimizing cost.
• Providing freight forwarder performance and budget control reports to management.
• Coordinating and solving the related problems in the goods handover process from freight forwarder to warehouse or user department.
• Carries out other similar or related duties which include completing documents for processing of insurance claims for damaged or short landed materials, preparing periodic reports on the purchase order and payment issues, arranging the export transportation of materials wrongly supplied or damaged

QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge / Ability / Skills:

• Completion of high education (4years), ideally with knowledge of freight forwarding management, international transportation and customs clearance.
• More than 5 years' work experiences in freight forwarding or customs clearance in internal company.
• Fluency in English, Arabic is score winning ability
• Proven ability to work accurately and efficiently with operating systems
