Overall Purpose of the Job

The Shop Technician - Drilling Technology will be responsible for maintaining equipment in accordance with the current maintenance program; inspect, assemble, disassemble, and check the functionality of equipment in accordance with the current maintenance management system; and load and unload equipment as per instructions from the Shop Manager/Supervisor.The Shop Technician - Drilling Technology will be responsible for maintaining equipment in accordance with the current maintenance program; inspect, assemble, disassemble, and check the functionality of equipment in accordance with the current maintenance management system; and load and unload equipment as per instructions from the Shop Manager/Supervisor.

Key Activities and Accountabilities

Paint and clean tools as needed. Cleaning tools entails disassembling, steam cleaning

and re-assembling the tools.

Dressing tools includes getting tools ready to make the job; ensure the tools are in good working order; inspecting tools; dress tools to correct size and place proper inserts in tools a specified on the work order.

Stencil tools, while in a stooping position, by swinging a 5-pound sledgehammer; grind tools by using a 5-pound handheld grinder.

Load and unload tools, which require lifting no more than 50 pounds maximum, with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects up to 50 pounds.

Sweep and maintain area; pick up hand tools; lift chains, shackles and small pieces of equipment.

Any other duties that management sees fit.

Follow proper procedures that coincide with the job task.

Complete and maintain build and strip reports properly.

Work closely with the DTD Ops coordinator for daily tasks and weekly forecasts.

Learn and enforce 5S initiatives

Establish smooth workflow and remain organized.

Job Knowledge and Qualifications

Experience/Knowledge of oilfield drilling systems preferred.

Ability to read/use manuals, guidelines, drawings and specifications to perform job duties.

Mechanically inclined.

Familiarity with forklift operation.
