Job Summary:
- The individual shall have Minimum 7 years of experience in various welding processes.
- Capable to read blueprints/drawings and interpret welding requirements.
- Capable to read and interpret welding procedures.
- Capable to produce Fillet, PJP, CJP & 6G quality welds on various metals like carbon steel, stainless steel and alloy steels.
- Capable to weld "FCAW, GMAW, SMAW "process on piping and structural steels.
- Directly reporting to welding supervisor/ Welding Engineer.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Read Welding procedures and understand welding process.
- Withdraw suitable welding consumables from stores as per WPS.
- Welding of pipes and structural items as per welding process specified in the WPS.
- Perform back gouging where applicable.
- Provide proper connections to welding machines, Holders, gauges, and tools.
- Safe handling of welding gases and tools/grinders.
- Grinding and cleaning/Dress up of the work pieces & welds
- Capable to use various welding gauges and measuring tapes/instruments.
- Ensure clean workplace and equipment.
- Maintain safety regulations and obey company safety rules.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education/Qualifications:
- Education: Min. High School / ITI / Diploma .
- Certificate/Qualification Records of welder performance qualification of various welding processes like FCAW/GMAW /GTAW/SMAW.
Experience Required:
- Min. 7+ years experience in fabrication (Structural) welding in oil and Gas Projects.
Key Competencies & Skills:
- Shall have sound technical knowledge in materials, welding & gouging processes, NDE inspection processes and general construction activities.
- Should be able to qualify third party welding qualification test in 6G position.
- Must have the knowledge of English speaking and writing (as all our procedures and forms in English).
- Read and interpret weld process according to AWS and ASME section IX.
- Proficient in structural/vessel tack weld for fit-up, MIG/FCAW/TIG/SAW/SMAW welding.
- Having sound knowledge of fabrication processes and principles (Welding, cutting, pressing, gas/plasma cutting works, fit up work etc.).
- Expertise knowledge in tools required for welding and gouging (Gas burners, Grinding machines, welding/ gouging machines).
- Solid blueprint interpretation skills and well versed with engineering drawings of mast and substructure, mud systems, pressure vessels, piping, process & structural.
- Proven track record of result deliveries in challenging project environments.
- Good communications skills
