Generator Tech Class B (ED)

A Waukesha Pearce Industries (WPI) Generator Tech Class B is expected to execute their knowledge of generators and engines to complete PM maintenance and minor repairs on standby generators. Be able to read wiring schematics and learn how to perform load bank testing.

Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Performs maintenance and repairs on generators and associated controls
- Completes service reports daily
- Continue to expand knowledge of the generators and controls sold and serviced by WPI
- Attends service schools and training programs offered by WPI
- Perform weekly truck inspections as required
- Fill out required JSA form on every job
- Perform other duties as assigned by manager
Minimum Qualifications:
Must have a minimum of 1 year's previous experience
- E.D. or High School Diploma
- Must be able to work and learn from others
- Must have a mechanical and/or electrical aptitude
- Must have an aptitude to learn to read simple wiring schematics and perform basic troubleshooting and repairs
- Must be able to supply your own tools
- Trade school or prior generator background preferred

- Must be able to pass and maintain drug and alcohol testing requirements as outlined by WPI
- Must be able to complete PM maintenance on standby generators
- Must be computer literate, a Windows based environment preferred. (MS Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Must be able to lift 50, bend and twist several times daily
- Must have the ability to work flexible hours and days
- Must be dependable and able to work independently
- Must maintain a professional appearance
- Must maintain good client relations
- Must promote and maintain a clean, neat, and safe work environment
- Must maintain the service truck, tools, and equipment in good working order
Working Conditions and Physical Demands:
- Typical hours of work Monday - Friday; 7:30m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Overtime and weekend hours as necessary
- Outside work
- Must be available for after hour callouts
- Will be added to the after hour on-call list
