JOB DESCRIPTION

Wood is currently recruiting for a seasoned Well Services Team Lead with several years in offshore slickline and wireline/e-line Well interventions.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional leadership, safety management, and operational planning abilities to ensure the successful execution of well services operations.

This role involves managing resources, overseeing technical activities, and ensuring compliance with safety and performance standards.

The position is based in Equatorial Guinea, West Africa, initially on a resident basis 10 weeks on / 3 weeks off, later transition to an equal time rotation 4 weeks on / 4 weeks off , with regular offshore trips during interventions.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Operational Leadership:
  • Lead wireline and slickline well intervention operations, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and operational guidelines
  • Oversee on-site activities during interventions, including equipment preparation, testing, and maintenance
  • Perform incident investigations and root cause analyses to enhance safety and operational efficiency

Technical Expertise:
  • Develop and execute detailed plans for wireline and slickline operations, including tool selection, equipment calibration, and job design
  • Supervise well integrity diagnostics, scale removal, zonal isolations, and data acquisition activities
  • Ensure the effective use of downhole tools, memory gauges, and other intervention technologies
  • Provide support for coiled tubing operations as needed, including planning and oversight

Team Management:
  • Mentor and train team members, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Evaluate and enhance team competency through structured training programs and performance reviews
  • Coordinate with contractors to ensure their compliance with company standards and requirements

Resource and Logistics Management:
  • Manage the inventory of tools, spares, and consumables for wireline and slickline operations
  • Collaborate with logistics and planning teams to optimize resource allocation and operational efficiency
  • Ensure timely equipment maintenance and inspections to maintain readiness and reliability

Continuous Improvement:
  • Conduct post-job reviews and analyze operational data to identify areas for improvement
  • Recommend and implement best practices for wireline and slickline intervention procedures
  • Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry advancements to enhance operational capabilities

Additional Responsibilities:
  • Support audits, inspections, and performance reviews in collaboration with the Operations Manager
  • Provide daily operational reports, lead and contribute to project planning and budgeting for well intervention projects/activities
  • Represent the company in regulatory engagements to address technical and operational concerns


QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications:
  • Relevant Degree Qualification
  • Certification in IWCF Well Intervention or equivalent well control courses.

Industry Experience and Knowledge:
  • Several years of well services experience, with a focus on wireline and slickline operations
  • Expertise in well integrity diagnostics, zonal isolation, and intervention planning
  • Proficiency in technical documentation and reporting
  • Familiarity with advanced wireline and slickline tools and techniques
  • Knowledge of coiled tubing operations and wellhead/Christmas tree maintenance
  • Experience with coiled tubing interventions is a plus
  • Experience with data acquisition and well performance analysis.

Personal Attributes:
  • English proficiency with Spanish preferred.
