The Global Mobility Compliance Specialist is an integral part of the Global Mobility European team that is assisting Emerson European teams with handling and management of the mobilized population, including but not limited to case preparation, case management, reporting, and metrics. As a Global Mobility Compliance Specialist, you would be responsible for managing and coordinating the global mobility programs and assignments within our European team. The primary focus will be on ensuring compliance with tax and employment regulations, facilitating smooth employee relocations, providing support to internationally mobile employees, facilitating and coordinating conversations with external counsels, and assisting managers and associates with day-to-day questions. The Global Mobility Compliance Specialist must remain abreast of current legislation/regulation and participate in re-designing processes/policies in response to business needs and/or new compliance requirements.

This role reports to the Global Mobility Manager Europe, who has ultimate responsibility for decisions, risk assessment, and strategy.

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Manage Global Mobility Assignments: Oversee the end-to-end process of global mobility assignments, including relocation, immigration, tax, and compliance. Prepare applications, letters, forms, etc. to obtain initial work permits, residence permits, and related documents and extensions of the same. Responsible for accurately maintaining our database to ensure all data is recorded and all appropriate actions are taken in a timely manner to pro-actively drive the case forward and keep the customer updated in real time
  • Compliance Management: Ensure compliance with immigration laws, tax regulations, and employment laws in collaboration with external legal counsel or immigration specialists.
  • Employee Support: Provide guidance and support to employees and managers regarding global mobility policies, processes, and requirements in the End-to-End process
  • Collaboration: Work closely with HR, business, payroll, and finance teams to ensure accurate and timely processing of international assignments, including compensation and benefits.
  • Vendor Management: Develop and maintain relationships with external vendors, such as relocation providers, immigration providers, and tax consultants.
  • Training and Briefings: Conduct briefings and trainings for employees and managers on global mobility policies, processes, and cultural considerations.
  • Policy Development: Assist in customizing and updating global mobility policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure alignment with business objectives and compliance with European regulations.
  • Repatriation Support: Provide guidance and support for repatriation processes and career development for employees returning from international assignments.
  • Record Maintenance: Maintain accurate and confidential employee records related to global mobility assignments.
  • Perform other related duties as required/assigned

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • Proven experience in Global Mobility or in a similar role, handling tax/compliance programs in an international environment. Minimum 3 years of experience in a relevant position
  • In-depth knowledge of global mobility policies, immigration laws, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to navigate complex international regulations.
  • Experience working with European countries and understanding their specific compliance requirements.
  • Ability to work independently, very good time management and prioritization skills;
  • Ability to manage problem solving and judgement skills
  • Keen interest in expatriate management and customer service
  • Ability to communicate effectively and concisely with all layers of personnel, including key vendors, both verbal and written in English. Proficiency in multiple languages is a plus.
  • Good digital literacy in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
