Responsibility
  • Supervise the site delivery of concerned engineering discipline services for the project on site to ensure they meet clients ', its customers' and applicable statutory and regulatory specifications, on time and within budget.
  • Continuous reporting to the Construction Manager throughout the execution of the services. May have full responsibility on specific functions, assuming the duties of a Construction Manager during absences.
  • Manage a multi-disciplined team of Supervisors;
  • Monitor and appraise the contractor's construction performance, and ensure that necessary corrective actions are taken in such areas as safety, quality, planning and scheduling, cost control, subcontract administration;
  • Ensure by leadership and guidance that contracted works meets all practical, commercial, requirements of productivity, quality and contract target completions;
  • Executes all orders and directives issued by the Construction Manager; outlines work programs; designates critical areas and priorities.
  • Review construction installation procedures
  • Attend Daily, Weekly, Monthly Progress Meetings, Tool Box and Meetings with the Subcontractor.
  • Ensure compliance to the project construction quality requirements
  • Verifying that plans, designs, materials purchased and equipment conform to specifications
  • Monitoring and appraising construction work for conformance with engineering' drawings, Design Specifications, Owner's standards, Contract Coordination Procedures and applicable codes. Verifying by appropriate checks
  • Ensuring Quality inspectors and contractor supervisors carry out the witness, inspection and surveillance checks in accordance with the Quality Plan and the requirements of the Quality Control Manager
  • Supervise the construction works developed on site by the EPC contractor to ensure the timely delivery of the project
  • Identify and report issues and problems, develop appropriate solutions, and ask for assistance when required.
  • Proactively report and resolve any discrepancies between client, the EPC Contractor and its Customer's requirements
  • Communicate effectively with the related engineering disciplines teams, and project stakeholders, including the Customer
Knowledge / Experience / Competencies Required
  • Engineer with electrical/civil background, with international experience (gained through multinational companies or across countries and professional cultures).
  • Site based experience, construction supervision with a very strong background in Power plants.
  • Successful track record of result deliverables in challenging project environments and harsh conditions.
  • Management of edge of internal and external engineering interfaces, schedule impact, change orders.
  • A sound knowledge of the fundamental requirements of the piping engineering, and the basic requirements of other engineering fields, with strong HSE focus ensuring adherence to applicable standards.
  • Highly effective technical and practical engineering skills and ability to consistently deliver quality, accurate and timely work to client and its customers.
Industry Specific Experience:
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in EPC/EPCM industry, EPC Power Plants development, engineering and construction of energy projects.
  • Renewable Energies Experience (PV, wind), with focus in PV Plants is a plus.
  • Experience in construction supervision required.
  • Civil and/or Electrical Experience is a plus.
  • Central Asia experience is an asset.
Education - Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:
  • Degree in Engineering, Master in relevant field preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Site Supervisory.
  • Proficient in English (written and spoken);
HSE Capability:
  • Adherence to HSE Policy and Procedures.
IT Skills:
  • Competent use of relevant design specific software.
MSOffice; and CAD programs. Primavera is a plus.
People Skills:
  • Responsible and Honest.
  • Good communication skills and an aptitude for taking initiatives are essential, as is the ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Collaborative, Team Builder and Leadership. Able to create a pleasant work environment.
  • Strong technical skills in the power and renewable energies industry, with emphasis in solar thermal field.
  • Strong trouble shooting skills with the ability to resolve technical, operational and systemic problems.
  • High level of understanding of management of interfaces across multi-functional groups and disciplines and project life cycle phases.
  • Thorough understanding of the risks and the technical/commercial issues associated with the engineering in power projects.
  • Must be a self-starter, with the ability to take responsibility for their own work, open to creativity.
  • Multitasking skills.
