JOB DESCRIPTION

NOV Downhole Romania represents a critical operational unit within the National Oilwell Varco global enterprise, specializing in comprehensive technical support and maintenance of drilling, fishing, and information/communication technology (ICT) tools for the oil and gas industry. The business unit is characterized by its rigorous commitment to service quality, safety standards, and operational excellence, with a workforce focused on adhering to strict NOV Service Manual guidelines, Quality Management System procedures, and comprehensive Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies. Through a dedicated team of technicians and assistant technicians, the unit provides essential maintenance, repair, and support services, ensuring high-performance standards in tool servicing while maintaining a meticulously organized and safety-conscious workplace environment that supports the broader objectives of precision engineering and industrial service delivery in the energy sector.

This is a temporary position for 9 months. During this time the company will be going through major changes and this role is to assist the finance team with the extra burden.

As Junior Accountant you will be part of a busy finance team and will be assisting with the efficient and timely processing of general accounting activities. Your practical accounting experience along with excellent communication and excel skills will be key to this role as you will be providing crucial support and reports to our management and financial reporting team as well as liaising with our sales and operations teams in the field. You will be responsible for following the Company's accounting processes and methods to tight deadlines and your existing knowledge of accounting and understanding of ERP systems will also be key.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Coding and processing Accounts Payable on JDE and Local systems (Winmentor and Soter)
• Assisting with the compilation of month-end analysis files
• Assisting with the preparation of month-end balance sheet reconciliations.
• Other AR ad-hoc accounting tasks as required.
• Be fully familiar and conversant with department and company policies, procedures, and processes, ensuring all work and actions undertaken are in full compliance at all times.
• Ensure compliance with all NOV financial and legal policies are applied at all times.
• Ensure safe working practices are applied at all times, keeping NOV staff safe in a safe environment.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

• Accounting Diploma or Degree in Accounting with strong practical financial experience
• Advanced computer literacy and ERP systems expertise
• Proficiency in financial software (JD Edwards/Winmentor preferred)
• Excellent English communication and analytical skills
• Strong collaborative skills
