Procurement Category Manager - Contract Assignment / Petrochemical

Burrow Global seeks to hire an experienced Procurement Category Manager to lead the development and execution of strategic initiatives and category management involving expenditures related to capital projects in a petrochemical environment. This is a 6 month Hybrid work assignment.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of economic principles, accounting/finance, and product life cycles within petrochemical plants. This role involves comprehensive spend analysis, vendor management, contract negotiations, and the development of key performance indicators (KPIs).
Key Responsibilities:
Strategy Development:
- Formulate and implement strategic directions for capital expenditures in the indirect categories.
- Conduct thorough economic analyses of procurement processes to improve decision-making.
- Utilize knowledge of accounting and finance to ensure proper capitalization.
Spend Analysis:
- Perform full analysis of annual expenditure, identifying trends and opportunities for cost savings.
- Categorize spending effectively to optimize procurement strategies.
Vendor Management:
- Collaborate with Engineering to develop and maintain an Approved Vendor List (AVL), including onboarding and off-boarding processes.
Conduct supplier relationship management meetings to foster strong partnerships.
Contract Negotiation:
- Lead the development and negotiation of contracts and frameworks, engaging Legal teams as necessary to finalize commercial terms.
Performance Measurement:
- Develop and monitor KPIs to measure supplier performance and procurement effectiveness.
- Provide support to Project Managers by mapping KPIs and ensuring alignment with project goals.
Team Management:
- Oversee and manage direct reports, providing guidance and support for their professional development.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; MBA preferred.
Active TWIC Card
- Proven experience in category management and procurement, particularly in capital expenditures within the petrochemical industry.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to conduct detailed spend analysis and develop actionable insights.
- Excellent negotiation skills and experience navigating complex contractual agreements.
- Knowledge of supplier relationship management best practices.
- Strong leadership abilities with experience managing teams.
