Senior Process Engineer

Job Overview: The Senior Process Engineer will be responsible for the design, optimization, and troubleshooting of process systems for onshore and offshore oil and gas facilities. This role requires expertise in process engineering principles, including flow assurance, heat and mass balance calculations, and process simulation, to ensure the safe and efficient operation of plant systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead process design activities, including the preparation of Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and equipment sizing.
• Perform process simulations using industry-standard software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, PRO/II) to optimize process systems and ensure operational efficiency.
• Review and approve process design documents, including material and energy balances, process control strategies, and commissioning plans.
• Develop and review technical specifications and requisitions for process equipment such as pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, and reactors.
• Conduct safety and hazard assessments, including HAZOP studies, to identify and mitigate process risks.
• Provide technical support during the construction, commissioning, and startup phases of projects.
• Lead troubleshooting and problem-solving activities for process systems, identifying areas for improvement and optimizing performance.
• Ensure that process designs comply with relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations (e.g., API, ASME, NFPA).
• Prepare and review detailed process reports, feasibility studies, and cost estimates.
• Interface with other engineering disciplines to ensure the integration of process systems with mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation designs.
• Support the development and execution of project schedules, ensuring that process design milestones are met on time and within budget.
• Mentor and train junior process engineers, providing guidance on best practices in process design and troubleshooting.
• Senior engineers often assume leadership roles within their teams and coordinate with other engineers, guide them through complex tasks, and make crucial decisions to keep the project on track
• Provide technical supervision and technical and administrative support and guidance to other engineers.
• Ability to Provide technical training to fresh engineers

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering.
• Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in process engineering, particularly in the oil and gas industry.
• Strong expertise in process design, including experience with PFDs, P&IDs, and process simulations.
• In-depth knowledge of process equipment, including separation systems, reactors, and heat exchangers.
• Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, PRO/II).
• Familiarity with process safety management and hazard analysis techniques (e.g., HAZOP, LOPA).
• Strong understanding of safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance in the oil and gas industry.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong project management and communication skills.
