Elevate Your Career in Sr Electrical Engineer - Facilities Projects with Airswift

Are you ready to take on the role of Sr Electrical Engineer for our client, a leading energy company? As a key member of their Facilities Projects team, you will have the opportunity to lead and manage various electrical engineering projects in Edmonton, Alberta. This is a full-time contract position with a duration of 1 year.

Role Overview
  • Relationship Management: Own and manage contracts with engineering services providers.
  • Design Review: Lead the design review process with internal and external partners, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, codes, and Enbridge's specifications, standards, and procedures.
  • Material Procurement: Lead the specification and requisition of materials, including reviewing vendor quotations, evaluating technical bid evaluations, and collaborating with Supply Chain for procurement.
  • Project Planning: Provide planning and scheduling for design and procurement phases of the project.
  • Technical Support: Offer technical support throughout all project phases, including development, construction, and commissioning.
  • As-Built Drawings: Manage engineering firms to incorporate red-line markups into as-built drawings for all projects.
  • Project Development: Support the development of project scope, schedule, capital cost estimate, execution planning, risks, and other related information.

Skills & Qualifications
  • Electrical System Design: Strong knowledge and experience in electrical system design within the Oil and Gas industry.
  • Negotiation: Proven ability to negotiate effectively with internal and external partners.
  • Electrical Engineering: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Familiarity with engineering system design is an asset.
  • Experience in commissioning is preferred.
  • Previous project management experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Process Hazard Operability is an advantage.
  • Understanding of constructability principles is beneficial.
  • Experience in material specification and requisition is a plus.
  • Ability to evaluate technical bids and make recommendations based on technical merit, price, and delivery.
  • Familiarity with Supply Chain processes and tools is an asset.
  • Knowledge of procurement processes is advantageous.
  • Experience in managing as-built drawings is a plus.
  • Understanding of project scope development is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with capital cost estimation is an advantage.

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Professional Engineer designation with APEGA or eligibility to register.
  • Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in engineering system design and commissioning within the Oil and Gas industry. Project management experience is preferred.
