RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure that all commissioning activities are completed in a safely, efficiently and well documented as per company policy and procedure
- Provide day to day support to commissioning engineer/supervisor/commissioning coordinator
- Responsibility for walk down, inspection and reporting of the plant instrument suitability
- Responsible for bringing all relevant Instrumentation documentation up to date
- Receive allocated duties and reviews scope of work and understand project requirements
- Arrange PTW, work method statements, Risk assess managements (RAMS), Toolbox talk are completed in line with HSE requirements prior to work start-up
- Review/ Plan execution of works on Instrumentation activities, Ability to lead a team of technician/sub-contractor and safely execute the work
- Liaise with other discipline to ensure work fronts are available as required
- To supervise all Instrument pre-commissioning, commissioning and start-up activities for assigned system/sub-systems. This includes preparation activities, coordinating resources (technicians, equipment, and other departments), expediting documentation - in particular handover dossiers, attending walk-downs from construction to commissioning and from commissioning to operations and formally agreeing and categorizing punch-list items
- Support Lead engineer or supervisor to ensure that all applicable environmental, process and safety technical policies are fully integrated and implemented
- Prepare and maintain commission records of site observations, testing processes and check lists
- Look at initiative to improve the work within pre-commissioning and commissioning
- Review all required documents and test sheet to safely execute the work. (Loop Drawings, Schematic drawings, test sheet, alarm & trip schedule, C&E drawing etc.) Compile relevant documentation to support handover and acceptance of systems to Operations Group
- Prepare Loop sheets and as built construction & Engineering document to prepare Project Handover dossier
- Ability to execute FAT/SAT/loop /functional test and guide technician during work execution
- Ensure all the test equipment's are calibrated, certified
- Ensure that commissioning procedures are adhered to and complete all necessary documentation to facilitate work. Familiar with system/subsystem compilation of test records relevant project drawings
- Ensure full compliance to company fire & safety environment procedures/standards in all execute work-task
- Identify potential HSE risk (related to construction, commissioning, process) and take appropriate step to mitigate it
- Give input to concern to ensure minimum standby time for vendor representative and avoid their revisits
- Ability to assist in performing various activities related to pre-commissioning, commissioning and start-up of process system and stabilization
- Ability to inspect all system for operational readiness
- Ensure LOTO is implemented for both electrical and mechanical equipment's for safe commissioning and start-up of systems/plants
- Ensure commissioning area is controlled, all energized system clearly marked and barricaded off. Access control in place. SIMOPS are carefully assessed and controlled
- Ensure that the instrument and control content of the dossiers is accurate and complete before they are accepted from construction and before they are submitted to operations department
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
- Must be a qualified Degree in Instrument / Automation Engineering
Experience:
- 10+ years' experience in the Instrument / Automation commissioning
- Experience of outdoor and indoor equipment
- Fluent Spoken & Written English
- Computer Literate, with good knowledge in desk top applications
- Must be able to understand technical drawings, manuals, literature and instructions
- supervisory experience including staff management, development and training
- Proven experience in contractor and contracts management
Skills:
- Detailed knowledge of HSE policies and procedures including PTW, LOTO and electrical isolation
- Good analytical and trouble shooting ability particularly in fault & emergency situations
- Excellent coordination and scheduling skills, control and resource management skill
- Excellent communications and stakeholder management skills
- Good interpersonal, team, communication and stakeholder skills
- Must have knowledge of industry standards and regulations with regards to safety and quality
- Prefer to have a Bahrain Driving License and defensive driver training
