Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to support the organization's vision and strategic direction. Each day, you will define, manage, and monitor processes to meet requirements for Information Systems (IS) services by planning, measuring, and improving all aspects of IS services. You will also showcase your expertise by being a key resource, a definitive source of knowledge processes, to contribute to enhancing organizational effectiveness. The work model for the role is Hybrid in Cary, NC. You will be mainly accountable for: • Experience in the Office of the CIO: Minimum of 3+ years working in the Office of the CIO, with responsibilities across multiple IS teams and/or organizations in a medium-sized organization (150+ resources). • Strategic Vision & Business Alignment: Proven ability to align IT strategy with business goals, driving transformation initiatives, digital innovation, and integrating technology to solve problems. Must be able to think long-term, set clear IT objectives, and communicate how technology can drive value and competitive advantage. • Leadership & Influence: Prior leadership experience in cross-functional teams, managing senior stakeholders (C-suite, department heads), and driving change management processes. Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to influence and gain buy-in from stakeholders and peers. • Technology Expertise & Understanding: Solid background in various technologies, including enterprise systems, cloud solutions, cybersecurity, data architecture, and emerging technologies (e.g., AI, machine learning). Deep understanding of IT infrastructure, applications, cybersecurity, data governance, and integration. • Project & Program Management: Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale, high-impact projects or programs with complex cross-functional dependencies. Strong project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall), budgeting, risk management, and resource allocation skills. PMP or similar certifications are a plus. • Change Management & Transformation: Experience in leading or supporting organizational transformations, particularly digital or IT-driven transformations. Expertise in change management frameworks, ability to anticipate and address resistance to change, and skill in driving adoption of new technologies and ways of working. • Governance & Compliance: Strong understanding of IT governance, risk management, and compliance. Experience in developing and implementing governance frameworks to ensure adherence to corporate policies and industry regulations. Knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements and strong attention to detail. • Financial Acumen: Ability to manage budgets effectively and optimize technology spend. Experience in cost-benefit analysis and financial forecasting. Understanding of IT budgeting processes and vendor negotiations. Ability to prioritize IS & technology investments based on financial ROI is a plus.

Qualifications for the role
- University degree in Computer Science, MIS, Business, or related field
- 7+ years of relevant work experience
- Proven experience working in the Office of the CIO, portfolio services management, strategic planning, and/or organizational transformation
- Process Optimization: Expertise in identifying inefficiencies and streamlining processes to enhance productivity and reduce operational bottlenecks.
- Leadership & Influence: Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to influence and gain buy-in from stakeholders and peers, and guide teams through transformations.
- Technology Expertise: Deep understanding of IT infrastructure, applications, cybersecurity, data governance, and emerging technologies like AI, machine learning, and blockchain, to implement efficient solutions.
- Project & Program Management: Proficiency in project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall), budgeting, risk management, and resource allocation, with a focus on delivering projects on time and within budget.
- Change Management: Expertise in change management frameworks, ability to anticipate and address resistance to change, and drive adoption of new technologies and ways of working to remove roadblocks.
- Governance & Compliance: Knowledge of IT governance, risk management, compliance, legal and regulatory requirements, and the ability to implement controls that mitigate risks and ensure smooth operations.
