New Remote Opportunity!! IT Application Consultant (Biovia Suite)

NES Fircroft has a unique remote contract opportunity for our client, a global Oil/Gas Processor, for an IT Application Consultant for a defined-term contract associated with a project on the Biovia Suite of Lab Application Products created by Dassault Systems.  This position will be a remote role with some travel as needed to our client's facility in Baytown, TX as needed.  

This position will be focused on providing high-level consultation work associated with the virtualization of physical servers for our client's Biovia Applications, upgrading the applications and validating app functionality and customization.  This position would be part-full time depending on the project scope at the time, and would be schedule to begin in May 2025 for a period of roughly six-months.  Candidates for consideration must come with a high level of expertise with the Biovia product suite such as CisPro, ChemReg, Notebook, Pipeline Pilot, and/or Foundation/Hub.

We are seeking an experienced IT Application Consultant with expertise in the Biovia suite of products (CisPro, ChemReg, Notebook, Pipeline Pilot, Foundation/Hub) to provide support and guidance in the virtualization, upgrade, and validation of applications within our environment. This role will primarily focus on the execution of application upgrades and validation with minimal oversight, ensuring the smooth transition and functionality of the applications throughout the process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the virtualization of physical servers, providing guidance to IT resources on application-specific concerns.
  • Aid in the operating system (OS) upgrade to the high watermark for the environment, offering validation and application-related guidance to IT resources.
  • Upgrade the Biovia suite of applications to the high watermark within the scope of the existing licenses.
  • Validate application functionality post-upgrade to ensure all customizations and configurations are preserved.
  • Manage user access during the domain migration process and assist users through the transition, ensuring seamless access and functionality.
  • Perform most of the work independently, starting with the acceptance environment and progressing to production environments with minimal supervision.
Requirements:

  • Proven experience with the Biovia suite of applications: CisPro, ChemReg, Notebook, Pipeline Pilot, Foundation/Hub.
  • Strong knowledge of server virtualization and OS upgrades, including validation and troubleshooting of application concerns.
  • Ability to perform application upgrades within the scope of licensing agreements and validate functionality.
  • Experience with user access management during domain migrations.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to guide and assist internal IT resources effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively across multiple tasks.
  • Willingness to travel to the Baytown site occasionally (minimal travel).
Timeline:

  • Expected project duration: Approximately 6 months.
  • Start date: Anticipated May timeframe.
  • Part-time commitment; not necessarily full-time across the entire duration.
