General Summary
Maintains wastewater collection system in a good working condition including pipe repairs and manhole rehabilitation.
Essential Functions/ Job Competencies/ Physical Requirements
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Enters confined spaces with respiratory equipment to make repairs.
- Checks and assesses conditions of manholes.
- Checks safety conditions within the work place.
- Helps with traffic control when required.
- Takes part in a crew that repairs manholes with concrete and epoxy.
- Assists in the installation of pipe patches.
- Helps with smoke testing of sewer lines.
- Assists in maintaining good communication between staff, visitors, and other business contacts.
- Must follow all rules of telephone courtesy in all telephone communications.
- Will be required to drive a City vehicle for City business use.
- Performs other related duties as required.
