One of our major oil and gas clients is seeking a Contract Advisor to work on a 12 - month assignment in their facilities in Houston, TX.

- Formulates EPC contract package (including but not limited to writing effective scopes of work and compensation for complex high risk/value contracts for major capital projects) including managing the sourcing process (as needed).
- The packages may be based on Company starter kits or Contractor papers.
- Proficient at developing, negotiating and administering mixed compensation models (LSTK, Reimbursable, Unit Rate etc.), performance-based contracts as appropriate for certain scopes of work.
- Demonstrate advanced understanding of converting open book to close book compensation model while progressing from Ph-3 FEED to Ph-4 EPC.
- Develops negotiation plans and assists with negotiations (T&C and commercial) for complex high risk/value contracts.
- Develops bid evaluation criteria by collaborating with SMEs in technical, commercial and legal function.
- Participates in bid evaluation and tabulation of bids. Generate award recommendation based on analysis and assist with developing risk mitigation plan.
- Ensures existing processes and procedures are followed to execute these contracts effectively.
- Manages post-award activities including fulfillment of contract obligations, written notices, change orders, amendments, contract extensions or renewals; responds to and negotiates complex contractor and company claims.
- Produce and control correspondence with contractor.
- Utilize e-procurement systems (i.e. SMART, etc.).
- Bring industry and domain knowledge and expertise related to major capital project contracting and networks with other BUs and third parties to identify and deploy best practices for contracting activities.
- Contributes in developing contracting strategies for complex high risk/value contracts.
- Able to collaborate with a wide variety of SMEs and cross functional colleagues to achieve BU and project objectives.
- Complies with Company policy, process, procedures, guidelines, and best practices.
- 10+ years of experience.
Preferred Bachelors/MBA. - Experience and expertise in major capital project contracting (especially LSTK EPC).
- Technical background and understanding of complex facility construction (especially natural gas power plant) is desirable.
- Effective interpersonal, communication skills and ability to collaborate with multiple functions to achieve deliverables and project objectives.
- Proficient at multitasking and able to deliver on tight deadlines, exhibits a sense of urgency with deliverables.
- Ability to learn and get up to speed quickly, and willingness to pivot as business dictates.
