Position Overview and Responsibilities
 

• Responsible for state and local income tax returns
• Responsible for Sales Tax compliance, payment and accounting
• Responsible for Property Tax administration, payment and accounting
• Responsible for Fuels Tax compliance
• Responsible for reconciliation of tax general ledger accounts
• Calculation & preparation of accrual entries for various tax liabilities
• Develop oil & gas basic tax knowledge base
• Provide audit support assistance to Sr. Tax Specialists
• Provide support in calculation of periodic state tax provisions
• Support Sr. Tax Specialists on various direct and indirect tax projects/assignments (i.e. sales tax, depletion calculations, notice response)
• Develop tools to assist internal departments with tax matters and establish good working relationships with the business

 
 
Required Education, Experience, Technical Qualifications
 

• Bachelors Degree in Accounting/Finance
• Prefer 2-5 years’ experience of relevant domestic tax experience in an accounting or publicly held corporation-
• Working knowledge of SAP

 
Key Competencies/Preferred Qualifications
 

• Oil and Gas experience a plus
• Candidate must possess strong research skills for determining applicability of tax regulations and court cases
• Strong communication skills and ability to present materials/concepts to larder groups including management
• Proven leadership and training abilities
• Familiar with Onesource Tax Software and environment a plus
• Working knowledge of research tools a plus (i.e. RIA/Checkpoint)
