We are working with a Major Oil & Gas operator to source an Area Manager (Topsides Engineering). This is a long-term contract role. Please see details below.
Title: Area Manager (Topsides Engineering)
Start Date: ASAP (typically within 1 month notice)
Location: Qatar Onshore
Working Schedule: 6 days per week / 10 hours per day
--Experience Required-
Key Job Accountabilities
• Ensure that the Contractor's Topsides Engineering team comply with the Contract requirements including codes and standards. Provide guidance to the contractor to promote compliance.
• Plan and schedule all engineering deliverables to enable efficient project execution, ensuring technical alignment and compliance with client operational policies, standards of business conduct and project management system.
• Participate to key design workshops and ensure that all design recommendation are correctly implemented and actions closed (Lessons Learned, Value Engineering, HAZOP, SIL, LOPA, engineering criticality assessment, etc.).
• Supervises the Engineering interface between the Topsides, Onshore Facilities (Offshore scope) and Pipeline engineering and the following teams: Operations, Drilling, Well Management, the Jacket, the pipelines from the topsides perspective, the Onshore Project Team.
• Coordinate with Subject Matter Experts with respect the disciplines involved in delivery of Topsides Engineering and ensures endorsement of Technical deviations to Company specifications when required.
• Ensure compliance with management of change procedures for changes in the contractors design or deviations from the company directives.
--Minimum Requirements--
Qualifications
• Engineering degree/diploma or equivalent, however any qualification, technical or knowledge requirements may be waived through relevant work experience
Knowledge and Key Skills
• 15+ years' of relevant experience as Engineering Manager, in a major project environment within the oil and gas industry and having a broad knowledge of engineering execution including design standards, specifications, codes, safety criteria, offshore facilities design, construction and operations.
• Previous knowledge of Greenfield engineering and execution required.
