Offshore Equipment Operator Job Description

Classification: Hourly Rate Position

Department: USA DeBusk Global Offshore Division

Reports to: David Welsh

Summary/Objective:

The Offshore Equipment Operator will work independently and with other personnel to maintain and operate equipment and processes on location. The Offshore Equipment Operator will work in outside weather and elements, blowing air, heat, noise, vibration and occasionally working from heights and confined spaces.

Responsibilities:
  • Ensure all assigned operating equipment is serviced, maintained and kept job ready.
  • Follow all posted safety rules.
  • Take part in all safety meetings and other onboard meetings as required.
  • Ensure work areas are free and safe from hazards.
  • Monitor and observe work areas for abnormal conditions and emergency situations.
  • Participating in OSHA safety policy and procedures.
  • Performa various duties required to keep their assigned equipment/area operating safely.
  • Demonstrate awareness and commitment to safety and equipment Maintenance.
  • Work with materials under high pressure.
  • Assist in general maintenance of company equipment, service, grease, etc.
  • Wash and clean company equipment - Pressure wash etc.
  • Help with job load outs or back loads from previous jobs - Return equipment and PPE back to designated areas.
  • Preform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
  • Preferred: 1+ years of experience in an industrial blasting related role
  • Willing and able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC).
  • I must be willing and able to work overtime (including weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts)
  • Must be willing to work in an offshore environment and take and pass an offshore survival course.
  • Be on call and respond to callouts during off hours due to business necessity
  • Proactive and results-oriented and able to effectively interact with all organizational levels and value diversity
  • Demonstrated communications and teamwork skills

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to lift at least 50 pounds.
  • Physically capable of standing and/or walking continuously for long periods of time if necessary and able to safely use ladder or fixed vertical walkways.
  • Physically capable of climbing, balance, bend/stoop, and kneel continuously.
  • Need to be confident with Helicopter and Ship transport.
  • Capable of working in a controlled offshore environment.
  • Capable of performing work duties in heavy duty work wear including fully enclosed work suits.
  • Wear fire retardant clothing and personal protective equipment (such as steel-toed shoes, ear/eye protection)

Pay Range: $25 - $30 per hour
