This position will be located in: Albuquerque, Artesia, Aztec, Hobbs or Santa Fe.
Why does the job exist?
This position oversees and manages the Class VI Underground Injection Control (UIC) program and (UIC) General Special Projects of the Oil Conservation Division's (OCD) Engineering Bureau to ensure OCD goals and objectives are met. This position primarily will: assign and directly supervise the work of the CLASS VI and (UIC) General Special Projects programs; interview and recommend selection of applicants; conduct training of personnel; act upon leave requests, conduct performance evaluations, and administer disciplinary actions. This position will also have the technical and administrative expertise to: design and develop programs to address new technical issues as they arise and as technical advances in the oil and gas industry are implemented; understand and administer the UIC program for all CLASS VI injection wells within the state, including drafting grant applications; act as an alternate hearing examiner and prepare orders; and write memos and conduct meetings.

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have experience in the following:
- Degree in engineering or similar
- Experience in the oil and gas industry
- Regulatory Experience
Minimum Qualification
Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Mechanical, Civil, or Geological Engineering and six (6) years of experience in a government regulatory role including oil field experience. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling ten (10) years may substitute for the required education and experience.

Must maintain and possess a current New Mexico Driver¿s License
