JOB DESCRIPTION

The Sales Support Engineer will be responsible for assisting the sales teams on technical matters and acts as a liaison between internal stakeholders. This role will include coordination with multiple internal departments, NOV organizations, and external customers or consultants. It will also entail taking a lead role in researching customer requirements and conducting technical sales briefings for customers and company representatives. This role will report to the Product Line Director, with a dotted line to the Engineering Director.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Researching customer technical specifications and creating conceptual CAD layouts for new equipment.
  • Review contracts and technical detail documents. Assist with contract clarifications and interpretation.
  • Creating calculations for new unit configurations for weight and balance, pump and vaporizer performance, and unit capacities.
  • Preparing and conducting technical sales briefings for customer and company representatives.
  • Researching customer technical specifications and providing feedback to the sales department for estimating the costs, resources, time, and technical requirements of modifying, configuring, and installing the product or solution.
  • Research and advise on applicable laws, regulatory requirements, codes, and technical standards.
  • Participate in project kick-off and contract review meetings to handoff conceptual work to production engineering
  • Participate in product line discussions for awareness of market trends, customer feedback, and field issues.
  • Facilitate and assist with generating specification documents for new products transitioning from R&D to production.
  • Develop sales support and customer facing documentation for our products and processes.
  • Work with product line in review of customer fleet compatibility analysis.
  • Stay up to date on emerging market trends and how they relate to incoming equipment quote proposals.
  • Coordinate engineering involvement with key internal and external customers including suppliers, consultants, senior management, and other NOV organizations.
  • Utilize customer service skills to explain technical products to non-technical audiences.
  • Follow all applicable company and corporate policies, guiding principles, procedures, and programs; including but not limited to the process map, support processes, health, safety, and environmental requirements.
  • Contribute and attend sales, production, and project action meetings as required.
  • All other assigned or associated tasks and duties to help meet or exceed the customer expectations and company goals.


SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Degree in Engineering or equivalent qualifications required.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) designation E.I.T or P.Eng is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years Engineering and Design experience.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks is required.
  • Knowledge and experience in the design and operation of oilfield service equipment (coiled tubing, nitrogen pumping, snubbing, etc.) is considered a strong asset.
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of employees and departments.
  • Ability and willingness to travel internationally.

HSE REQUIREMENTS

  • Primarily work Indoors, occasionally outdoors on equipment locations.
  • Occasional work around or on functioning equipment.
  • Occasional traveling to customer field locations, possibly internationally.
