NOV Downhole Romania represents a critical operational unit within the National Oilwell Varco global enterprise, specializing in comprehensive technical support and maintenance of drilling, fishing, and information/communication technology (ICT) tools for the oil and gas industry. Through a dedicated team of technicians and assistant technicians, the unit provides essential maintenance, repair, and support services, ensuring high-performance standards in tool servicing while maintaining a meticulously organized and safety-conscious workplace environment that supports the broader objectives of precision engineering and industrial service delivery in the energy sector.
As Workshop Labourer, NOV Downhole your primary job role is to assist technicians on service all Tools to the highest level of service quality in accordance with all NOV Service Manual work instructions, standard service, and Quality Management System procedures. All work tasks must be undertaken, and equipment operated adhering to all Job Safety Analysis and related Risk Assessments. Workshop Labourer role has abroad range of tasks involved with individuals taking responsibility for understanding and conforming to PPE, Quality and HSE Policies. The job role is primary to assist the technicians in servicing the Downhole range of Drilling, Fishing, and ICT Tools but additional general workshop duties is required to assist the operation. Service personnel also have direct responsibility for workshop housekeeping and should be proactive in maintaining a clean and organised workplace.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Adhere to all Downhole HSEQ Policies and procedures and ensure PPE guidelines are followed.
- Extensive safe and efficient use of all workshop Service and lifting equipment following all applicable risk assessments and JSA's.
- Responsible for maintaining a high standard of housekeeping and participating in preventive maintenance system to ensure workshop equipment checks are completed and non-conforming issues reported.
- Participate in 5S implementation and maintenance within the facility and ensure 5S principles are followed and adhered to
- Participate in product and HSE training as required and have an active role in the D&I Competency System completing HSE and Product Units
- Participate in Downhole Observation Reporting System to identify potential hazards within the workplace.
- Interact with all workshop/warehouse personnel to ensure a safe and efficient workplace. Proactive involvement in the HSEQ System to participate in Workshop Inspections, Risk Assessment Reviews, HSEQ meetings etc.
- Carry out daily maintenance checks on Fork-lifts and company vehicles recording findings on inspection check sheets.
- Use of Mechanical Lifting equipment to load and unload trucks and general fork-lift duties including storing tools and components.
- Assist in packing of Tools and Components for shipment to another NOV.
- Work in Paint Shop as required, ensure all tools are cleaned, painted and identified according to NOV procedures.
- Work in Wash Bay as required, ensure all tools and disassembled components are power washed appropriately in preparation for NDT inspection.
- Assist in maintaining Waste Management programmed and general cleaning and tidying of the workshop and yard areas
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- Educational Requirement: High school degree or equivalent
- Energy Level: High
- Communication: Strong
- Technical Skills: Basic to Intermediate
- Equipment Operation: Forklift/Overhead Crane (Advantageous)
- Power Wash Machine Skills: Beneficial
- Language: Fluent Romanian
- Physical Capability: Important
