Are you passionate about delivering strategic plans for an asset base? We have an exciting opportunity to join our Wastewater team as our Strategic Planning Manager, you'd play a crucial role in shaping long and medium-term intervention plans for the asset base.
This position not only involves strategic thinking and planning but also has a significant impact on achieving organisational targets. You'll ensure our strategic asset management system is established, utilised and driving us forward to industry leading asset management.
You'll play a key role in the delivery of our AMP8 business plan (2025-2030), driving our tactical plans and investment to maximise environmental performance.
Within this role you'll lead a team of subject matter experts responsible for delivering an integrated service planning framework. You'll identify strategic objectives whilst balancing service, asset, and business requirements. This means you will identify and plan scenarios we should work within and recommend any changes.
This is a varied role that will provide you with the opportunity to engage with a wide range of teams. On a normal day, you may be driving forward our asset management capability and practices or developing plans to achieve our environmental targets.
You'll engage with our regulatory stakeholders to ensure alignment across internal and contracted services. You'll also contribute to reviewing strategy, building relationships with key internal teams and enhancing processes and customer experiences.
Using data from internal and external sources you will understand root cause using this information as the foundation for your decision making. Ultimately, you'll ensure that asset plans are robust and sustainable while effectively managing asset health and resilience.
About you

You'll use your extensive experience of operating in a heavily regulated business and understanding of the utility industry to identify external factors that may influence our decisions, including political, economic, social, and technological issues.
We'll provide you with the knowledge to develop your understanding of the Wastewater system and interaction with other assets. However, you'll have a comprehensive knowledge of asset management principles and practices.
As this is a leadership position, you'll be experienced in leading multiple teams and disciplines. You'll use your strong networks to create collaborative relationships and partnerships across internal business areas, with external partners, water sector peers and regulators.
