Pay Range
$41.93 - $61.57 Hourly
$41.93 - $51.33 Hourly for the 538.2 Level
$50.28 - $61.57 Hourly for the 538.3 Level

Job Description
We have an opening for a Nuclear Facility Construction Projects Coordinator to provide technical and administrative support for structural, mechanical, and electrical construction projects. You will support work planning activities and coordination efforts involving manpower, materials, equipment, and time to ensure proper and efficient operation while adhering to security, environmental, health, and safety regulations. This position is in the Strategic Deterrence (SD) Directorate.
This position requires full-time on-site presence due to the nature of the work.
This position will be filled at eitherlevel based on knowledge and related experience as assessed by the hiring team. Additional job responsibilities (outlined below) will be assigned if hired at the higher level.

In this role, you will
- Provide technical support for LLNL construction projects within the superblock complex to include planning to ensure efficient use of resources and compliance with safety regulations.
- Support the preparation of project documentation by performing data gathering.
- Interact with key personnel involved in projects, system engineering, facility program work, and maintenance within the facilities.
- Provide coordination support for facility projects and materials/equipment acquisition.
- Participate as a project team member in planning and execution phases, ensuring adherence to project timelines and objectives.
- Maintain detailed knowledge of engineering and maintenance programs to effectively support project requirements.
- Regularly update supervisors and customers/requesters on project status, results, and any potential hazards.
- Assist in resolving vendor supply and fabrication issues.
- Support the resolution of design changes, substitutions, job orders, and other related actions to meet scheduled deadlines.
- Ensure compliance with ES&H and security requirements and report any hazards or potential hazards to supervision.
- Participate in on-the-job training as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Additional job responsibilities, at the 538.3 level
- Lead the coordination of material/equipment acquisition, including installation and support for engineering projects.
- Develop and implement project support plans by engaging with key personnel for design, fabrication, testing, procurement, and support.
- Anticipate and reconcile support problems, including technical factors affecting critical milestones.
- Provide routine status updates and reports to supervisors and customers/requesters, contributing strategically to project goals.
- Mentor and train junior staff and coordinate with upper management to ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
Qualifications
- Ability to secure and maintain a U.S. DOE Q-level security clearance which requires U.S. citizenship.
- Associate degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or equivalent related certificate or diploma with related work experience and coursework, or an equivalent combination of education and Construction/Maintenance experience in an engineering field.
- Knowledge of industry standards, procedures, and techniques related to facility construction project coordination.
- Familiarity with laboratory equipment, facility-related equipment/systems, and electrical, civil, and structural facility equipment/systems.
- Intermediate skills and understanding of relevant construction processes, including standards, procedures, and techniques.
- Basic knowledge of the technologies relevant to the construction of building systems.
- Effective written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.

- Intermediate knowledge of technologies relevant to the construction of building systems.

- Experience developing documentation or instructions in support of construction activities.
- Experience in fulfilling Work Control process and procedure requirements and Quality Assurance/Quality Control documentation skills used in an engineering environment.
- Experience working around radioactive/fissile materials within a nuclear facility or power plant.
